I think having an infection can cause problems with HPT something to do with the protein in your urine.

Oh..... i do have protein in my urine... could this make them not get darker? or would it be the other way round showing faint pos when its bfn? i read the tests packet and it says not matter whether the lines faint or not its definately a pregnancy. Still no witch today although im very uncomfy, ive decided it feels like stretching pains!

Im thinking... if anyone can answer this query??

I could, maybe be about 10 weeks as my first period after erpc was extremely light and brown... only lasted one day with no clots (sorry!) would tests start going fainter then as the hcg count goes down? obviously this is just one thing thats running through my head... i could also be only 5 weeks... or maybe ectopic?? or they could scan me and find nothing at all and its just my shit luck that my bodys playing tricks on me

The chance of you being 10 weeks is slom as you did have a bleed, i no it was only light but some people dont get a period at all and the fact it had no clots doesnt mean anything babe it was probally your body adjusting, as for the infection that can make you very swollen, ill and be very very tender the amount iv had are really bad. i dont no about it making the lines tho, its possible but iv never heard that before. Something isnt right babe and your getting your best care from the dr's, theyl scan your tubes and check everything to make sure your nt ectopic then check to see if there is any sign of a pregnancy, Thickening to the womb. It might be your body is struggling to keep up and has missed its period. i no mine still is struggling a year later.

Read the section on false positives but it's really rare.

Thanks hunny, not too sure if it is a water infec as no blood in urine also im 9 days late now and never late so thinking its not the infec causing the faint lines, suppose we will just have to wait and see :/ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

i take a very very high dose of diuretics, and lose about 30 g of protein in my urine a day!

no false positives yet! (thank god)

Tootsy if its any help I used to have urine infections CONSTANTLY and they never affected my tests. And I was a complete POAS-o-holic. I think its rare honey!
I hope they get to the bottom of this. Its so unfair that there is an odd few of you that just seem to be waiting an age for answers!

hey girls, bit deflated today!! i started spotting bright red blood, only spotting though and got really bad stabbing pains in my right side, went to walk in centre which sent me to a and e... they done a pregnancy test (refused to do bloods) and said it was neg so was likely it was my period beginning, said i do have a strong water infec though so got antibiotics... i burst into tears, the poor doctor he was trying to comfort me!! i still have to go for scan just incase though. The only funny thing is, its the smallest amount of blood mixed with cm... not like the start of any period ive had and i dont have any cramps.. just this pain on my right side :'( xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

hope they get to the bottom of this tomorow for you, just a thought the pain on the right side could be a ovarian cyst?? ive had one before they cause lots of pain, also im sure i read sumwhere that they can give a false positive on a pregnancy test could be wrong though, if it is that it will be picked up on your scan anyway good luck xxx

Oh chic! I reckon it's the on her way and that your faint positives have been from the protein in your urine (not that I'm a doctor or anything )

Doesn't explain the pain mind you!

oh Tara im sorry to hear this but at least you will be getting a scan. If its ok to say I dont think it will be ectopic....im pretty sure that HCG levels are meant to be really high if it is....but could be wrong and youve only been getting light lines on hpts.

Thanks donna sweetie xxx i will update all you guys after i have had my scan.

About the ectopic, apparently, if you have an ectopic you start with a faint line (but a noticable one) and they dont get darker as the embryo cant multiply so the hcg cant rise quick enough or... you just simply wouldnt get a positive at all. Thats what they discribed to me today but they also said some people can get fully blown positives that start getting fainter... its so weird but im with you i dont think its ectopic either im just baffled to think whats going on. I have only spotted red blood today but it was more like pink cm with small spots of blood in when i wiped (sorry!) i put a sanitary towel on when i came in and nothing has went onto it. All i have is this horrible achey pain on my right side.. its strange.
