Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Thank you Pip. I put a photo in the parl thread rather than here, I know you love lines  I hope today went okay?

Tasha, so delighted for you! Off to check the PARL thread now :)

Thank you both. I have my fingers tightly crossed that you all are joining me soon x

Loeylo, it was lovely to meet you. I've been meaning to text you to see how you got on with your gp re Progesterone but my phone is a nightmare at the moment, it should be repaired this weekend.
Remember my offer, you can email me on here or FB if need be.

Yes, it's true I seen a rainbow on the way, we both did, we compared pics lol.... all these rainbows lately are a sign, I just know it!!

Tasha, massive congrats hun, of course I've been drooling over your lines. I miss lines. Everything crossed for you.

Hope, your pups are adorable.

I'm off to catch up on the threads.

Confuzion, how are you?! I had to take a break from here for a little bit while I went through the gauntlet of testing. We finally found out what caused my mc's earlier this year. Natural progesterone deficiency (not just during pregnancy, but all the time) as well as insulin resistance. I'm starting treatment for both but I'm going to call my Dr. today to discuss concerns I have about the aggressive approach planned for my next cycle.

As you know, we've never had a problem getting pregnant and my RE wants to do a full monitored cycle with me being on FSH injections and everything. I think it's a bit much so I'm going to call today and ask if we can just do the Metformin and progesterone for a few months and see how that works and then if not, then we can go forward with the injections and whatnot.

, I'm doing ok thanks! Just wishing the time away until January. Hoping the holidays make the time go by faster. I just want to get back into trying again.

I am seeing a new infertility/recurrent miscarriage specialist on the 17th and he may want to do a monitored cycle as well. We don't have problems getting pregnant either but I am concerned about the maturity of my eggs and would like to know number and size of follies. But I'm just guessing, will have to see what he really wants to do when we see him in under 2 weeks.

I would really like to be tested for MTHFR as that's the only thing I think I HAVEN'T been tested for at this point.

I hope the metformin, progesterone combo works for you!

Thank you ab.

I got two positives. Will add photos when I'm on the laptop as I can't spoiler them from my phone.

Congrats Tasha! I, like everyone else here, am hoping this will be another rainbow for you.

Thank you so much girls.

Good luck with the specialist confuzion. MTHFR is something I have, df push for testing.

I know that some of you wont want to see lines but some do, so spoilering a photo of todays test. It is a huge pic though, silly photo bucket.

Congrats Tasha!

I think I too will be asked to be tested for MTHFR as I feel it is one of the only things I haven't been tested for. They also signed me up for a monitored cycle but I fell pregnant before it started so I think they will do it after my hysterogram (sp?).

Question ladies and sorry if TMI but I need some advice. I have been spotting since Oct 24th after finding out the first week of Oct that pregnancy wasn't viable. Last Friday I finally accepted the misoprostal prescription as things were not progressing. I haven't filled it yet as I am working 7 days this week and right through until next Friday which is my next day off and my past experience was horrible so I would like 24-48 hours to recuperate. On Tuesday I got called into work early and showed up in a pair of light grey sweat pants with my work clothes shoved in my bag. I ran into the office with my (male) boss to let him know I had arrived and suddenly felt very cold. I ran to the bathroom only to discover that I had lost more blood than I am comfortable describing I was a mess and my pants are in the garbage. Do you think I should still take the prescription? I have had zero bleeding since. Dr told me to make an appt no sooner than 10 days after taking the meds. I think I will call them tomorrow as they are a specialty clinic and only open Mondays and Fridays. I have had a natural miscarriage before and it was NOTHING like that. There was no pain or cramping. It felt like I had peed myself only worse. Again so sorry if TMI, just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

SweetV, with my first loss I had sudden gushes of blood for about three months  Usually followed by a big clot. It was a situation of retained products of conception. Misoprostol didn't work for me but hopefully it will for you. The best would probably be to check back with your doctor if you have any concerns about taking the meds.

If I remember correctly, they told me to expect cramps and things to happen within 48 hours so I think you are right to wait until you are not going to be at work for that time (even though for me nothing happened at all - doh!). Good luck! :hugs:

For me they gave me misoprostal with my 2nd miscarriage and although it was incredibly painful it didn't work at all. I had cramps that had me doubled over for 24 hours and ended up needing a D&C anyways. I am going to set up and appt for next week. I just want this to be over with so I can go back to the RE and start TTC again.

I took time of work and sat at home waiting for cramps that never came :(
It is supposed to work well most of the time, though, and maybe the fact that you had cramps last time means your body responds well (even though you didn't complete things last time). Fingers crossed it all happens as quickly and painlessly as possible.
TV and movie makers should really learn what a miscarriage is about. Most people still think it's a splurge of bleeding and voila, job's a good 'un. :dohh:

SweetV, I thought I might add: one thing my body did respond to quite strongly while I was struggling with that first miscarriage was reflexology! It was odd but I had contractions and passed clots within 24 hours. Unfortunately, it still wasn't enough. It was a bit of an odd miscarriage, mind. I was scanned at 11.5w and all they could see was placental tissue. No baby. It took three D&Cs to get it all out.
You can ignore that bit but I thought I would mention the reflexology as I felt it really helped at the time.

I had 3 D&Cs for my first miscarriage too. I had taken misoprostol as well.

Hi ladies. I'm still waiting for this miscarriage to start. My blood hcg must be about 20 currently as I'm still giving clear positives but it won't seem to go down for af to arrive! If I didn't know it wasn't going to work, I'd be 5 weeks tomorrow. Any ideas what I can do to get things moving? Is it too early for medical management? I want a cycle break at least but at this rate it'll be January before this disastrous cycle ends. Boo. I'm so fed up.

:hugs: lambs. I've no advice but limbo is crap.
