Isaac Ralph - I also seen Prof Q initially, she never prescribed Prednisolone for my thyroid antibodies, nor did she advise my consultant to prescribe it when they 'chatted' about me. I initially went to her for the biopsy but she looked at my thyroid tsh and felt that was the issue so just seen me as an nhs patient and did thyroid antibody test + clotting disorder tests
Are you on thyroxine ?
I persuaded my local consultant to prescribe steroids for my 6th pregnancy but she would only give me 20mg from BFP and like LeeC I miscarried on that dose
After my 6th loss I went to Mr Shehata and followed the same protocol as LeeC, to a certain degree that protocol worked, sadly I had an aBruption at 27w and lost Isaac after 3 days in nicu
I was then prescribed the malaria drug that Tasha mentioned on top of everything I took for isaac pregnancy, I'm currently 31w3d so the furthest I have ever made it
Xx
Yeah I am on thyroxine I had to go on it after my 2nd ds as my tsh was 26 but it went to below 2 after 6 weeks and my latest tsh was 0.86 yesterday. With both of my recent losses my tsh was well below the recommended levels so something still not working. I also had 2 losses before my hypothyroidism was diagnosed and tsh only jut over 2.5 so for me I think the antibodies has something to do with it. I had infertility after DS1 so the fact that I am able to concieve is amazing but carrying to term is my next goal. From the research I have done thyroid antibodies can and does cause infertilty and miscarriages so I am hoping she will take this on board. I also had my ANA test come back positive which might indicate further immune problems so to me the evidence of it being my immune system is there already in black and white. I don't know?? I am quite medically minded as I'm a nurse in ed department so I have literally scoured the Internet for information. Did you see Mr Shehata on the nhs? I guess that would be my next step if Prof Quenby can't help me. Sorry about your losses, my ds is called Isaac, congratulations on making it to 31 weeks not long now and I'm sure you'll be taking your rainbow baby home. Good luck
Hashimoto's is auto immune so you probably have elevated nk cells too, quite common with auto immune diseases
I went gluten free and halved my thyroid antibodies And my thyroid became less under attack , I dropped my thyroxine dose however it shoots up incredibly when I'm pregnant, I was on 150 Now it's 225
Yes me Shehata is on nhs, his nk cell test is via blood so different to Quenby . He is based in surrey x
