Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Good luck Hope & Tia :hugs:

Tasha - I hope your anniversary lovin' has caught the egg this cycle :dust:

Ginny, been keeping up in PARL, glad all is well with you.

AFM I've finally been able to make my appointment for the NK cells testing with Prof Quenby so I'm off to Coventry next Monday (18th) for that. I hope it gives us some answers.

Hi ladies sorry I have to catch up in here - hope everyone is ok x

Hope so glad you wrote everything down and I really hope you get sone answers soon x

Confusion - I googled 45x and it seems to not involve chromosome 9? So it might have been a random occurence? The other thing ive heard about with multiple abnormal chromosome miscarriages is relating to egg quality. I dont know if any of tge ladies have suggestions on how to improve that as a matter of precaution maybe? Just an idea x

Thank you for responding Ginny :)

I've thought it might be egg quality before. I took coq10, resveratrol, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference. It's also tough to imagine that would be my issue considering I'm only 25 unless there was something bigger going on. I don't know. It's all so confusing and frustrating. I wish someone could just tell me "this is why this keeps happening" and "this is how we're going to make you a mom". Right now it feels like it will never happen.

Squig - just emailed you but so happy to see you've got the appointment is set now. FX for answers!

To be honest I don't know how the test for egg quality. I know some people through IVF get an idea on their egg quality in terms of how many eggs they get fertilise etc. You can get your AMH levels tests which is suppose to indicate quantity, but I really don't believe they know enough about this test and it doesn't indicate quality. My AMH is low for someone of my age and yet I've never had a miscarriage due to chromosomal issues (that I know about) or had that much trouble getting pregnant.

I would wait and see what the last lot of results say before you get too worried about there being an ongoing chromosomal issue. easier said than done i know x

Just a small update.

Had a loss in Mar, May and July. The Mar and May one I wasn't able to get a blood test done because it was on a Friday evening and medical here isn't open on the weekends, and I started bleeding by Sunday.

The one in July I got a SUPER faint positive on a FRER on a Friday around 2:30/3pm so I ran to medical and got a beta done. It takes 48 - 72 hours to get the results back (o m g kills me) and I started bleeding on Sunday again, and on Monday they called me and said my level was 4.44. And after I told them I had started bleeding they asked me to do blood work again on Wednesday, got the results on Friday and it was 0.6 then.

Flash forward to August. We BD'd on the 4th, and I hadn't taken any OPK's this cycle because we are NTNP. The next day I took one cause I have some expiring soon and it was ALMOST positive. Like just a shy bit away, the next day it was SUPER light and continued to get lighter, so this means I probably O'ed on the day we BD'd. Flash to now, my boobs are KILLING me, I get sharp stabs in my uterus area and I'm nauseous and I'm always hot. I think I saw a shadow on an IC, but I'm waiting until I know there is a line to go to medical, so maybe on Friday or Monday. I'm just hoping this time if I am I don't start bleeding. This year marks 3 losses for the year, and 5 losses since April 2011.

DSemcho, sorry to hear you've had another loss. What's the latest with this pregnancy, did you get your betas done? I've had 5 losses since April 2012 so similar to you. Tough times :hugs:

Hello ladies, back again with a question!

We're on a TTC break while waiting for RPL testing to come back but I've starting charting this month just to see whats happening (don't normally bother but with tons of supplements my cycle has finally shortened).

Anyway, my pre-ov temp so far is usually around 36.18 Celsius. I read this is abnormally low.....should be 36.4 or above. But can't find much info.

For any tempers - what's your normal sort of temp? And any idea why low is abnormal?

Thanks in advance x

My temps were always low hun, i cant actually remember what they were but i put it down to my thyroid , or my thermometer was wrong!

xx

I'm pretty sure my temps were below 36.2. I always thought it didn't matter what exactly the temperature was as long as there was a shift after ovulation!

My temps were always really low and never got particularly high after o,but you could see the shift

That's good to know. I did read something about thyroid problems but I'm still waiting for my thyroid function test to cone back.

Well.. after my loss in July they did blood and it went back down to .20... Well when they drew my blood on Thursday it was like .61 or something O.o

So it's technically no. But as of yesterday and today I've been feeling really hot, my boobs are killing me and I spent most of today with a migraine, being exhausted and nauseous (some yesterday also). I haven't tested through the weekend, but I will in the AM (It's 10pm here) and see if I have a definitive line. If I don't then I'm waiting for AF.

Hi ladies,

It's taken me a long time to return to these boards. A bit about me:

I'm 36 and have had 1xDS who is now 18. 1x ectopic in 2009, 2 x early miscarriages (6 weeks) in 2010 and my most recent and devastating loss (MMC) at 11 weeks in Jan this year (baby would've been due this week).

I really struggled to cope with the latest miscarriage and although I'd been given a referral to the RMC I never bothered to chase it up. I have now got an appointment for October.

I'm a bit unsure as to what's likely to happen, how long the tests take and how successful the whole process is. Can anyone fill me in?

Thanks,

Hi I'm new to this site and not sure if this is even where I should be posting. In the last year, I have had a MMC at 11 weeks, followed by a chemical pregnancy, then another MMC at 18 weeks. I have had two healthy pregnancies, so I am just lost and confused and find myself googling and googling to try to find answers.

I want to know how so many of you have the strength to keep trying???

Hi run

Sorry that you have found yourself on this part of the forum

Google can be fatal at times, certainly not been my friend lately!! Have you been referred for Any sort of testing yet?

As for strength to keep going...... I've asked myself lately if I have the strength to keep going. You just find it. I had 6 early losses then a 27w neonatal loss (8w ago). I came so close with Isaac, I can't give up now

You will find a ton of support here, the thread can be quiet at times but ask anything you want to, I'm sure we will be able to help xx

The first appt tends to be discussing the tests they will run then you will have blood taken. Results are about 8w later and they should also give you an internal scan to check for uterine anomalies

Depending on your results a plan should then be put in place for your next pregnancy

Success doesn't always come straight away from the results, it took me 4 years and 6 losses before I successfully carried a pregnancy further than 6w. I Made it to 27w and had a placental abruption so something completely different

I got referred to another consultant and did a few tests privately too

Xx

Hi ladies I was a member of this group many moons ago when I suffered my first 3 losses between 2008 and 2009. I since went on to have my two rainbows and was pregnant with my 3rd sadly on Tuesday I got the devasting news that baby had gone (despite him/her looking healthy on a scan 3 days previous). I'm gutted and although I knew there was a chance that I would loss another I never thought I would be that unlucky again.

So bit of history. My first loss was at 8 weeks complete miscarriage, my 2nd loss was at 9 weeks (babys heart had stopped the week previously) and I had an erpc, my 3rd loss was at 19 weeks my daughter Jessica her heart had stopped a few days/weeks previous and I gave birth to her on the 21st April 2009. After we lost her I had tests done for recurrent miscarriage they all came back normal. No genetic problems with my husband and I and nothing else that showed a reason why. My baby girl was healthy. This loss happened at 8 weeks (a pattern seems to be emerging).

Is it worth asking my gp to refer me for tests again. i know its highly unlikely they will find something but I need to try and find answers to why its happened again. I also had antbodies in my blood the nurse at the epu didn't really explain it properly but they were present from when I had my youngest 2 years ago (no one told me this) and I'm wondering if that played a factor (if the antibodies get into babies bloodstream it can cause problems). I know I'm clutching at straws but finding answers is the only thing thats stopping me from breaking down. I need something to focus on other then how heartbroken I am. x

Babytots, if you are eligible to have them repeated, then I say go for it. Especially if its what you need to keep your head above water. :hugs:

My hubby isn't especially supportive about long distance referrals (as you know I live in devon) but if i lived closer I'd be asking for a referal to london or liverpool for sure. xxx

L :hugs: I am so sorry to see you back here.

I think it's quite unlikely you would be referred for testing hun, as they wouldn't class you as having recurrent loses atm. I know that's rubbish though :hugs:
