Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Hi ladies.

Had my D&C yesterday and they found something AT LAST. I can't tell you how relieved I am. If they hadn't found anything that would have been more hospital, more medicine, more intervention.

Honestly, I have had more hospital intervention with this miscarriage than I did with the birth of my son.

So I'm feeling pretty good. I don't actually feel too ill after the op either, but I think that's mainly relief that it's finally over. All I have to do is wait for the results of the tissue they sent to the lab, what it is etc & do a pregnancy test in 3 weeks.

So now I'm definitely not pregnant. 3 little angels. It feels so surreal, this wasn't how it was meant to go

LPF,
Progesterone won't affect any test results but it might make you feel symptoms such as breast tenderness, bloating or similar even if you are not pregnant. Usually, if you take a sensitive test at around 11dpo and it is still negative then you can stop the progesterone and wait for your period.

Broken :hugs: I had an extended miscarriage, too. It was miserable! I hope this is it for you so that you can move on :hugs:

Broken :hugs: I had a miscarriage that took nine weeks (I refused medical intervention) and it was so draining. I too was relieved when it was over, so that's normal. I'm so sorry for you though.

LPF, exactly what pip said, it doesn't change the positive but does make you more symptomatic x

Hugs Broken. I've had a couple of miscarriages that lingered for months---what a horrible feeling. Hope your recovery goes well.

That's great, thank you.

So, if my tests are darkening and hcg is higher and rising and can think 'this is different, and maybe in a good way' without thinking 'it's the progesterone - it's all fake!'

I'm considering going to see prof Quenby for nk cells this cycle. I'm wondering that even if I don't have raised nk cells she might have some advice that I can take to my gynae and he might listen to her guidance!

LPF-I've been told by two different doctors that progesterone won't interfere with a healthy pregnancy and honestly, it didn't increase my pg symptoms or anything even with the doubled dosage I took with my last pregnancy. I did, however, have side effects from the medication though and I noticed those were much worse with the increased dose. I'd get very tired and dizzy for about an hour/and a half after taking the pill and that's a very common side effect. But I just timed my doses so I wasn't driving or anything during that time and it worked out.

it explains now why ive been getting headaches and dizzy spells lol i even went to the docs lol she did tests to see if i was going through the change if i would take two progesterone is it best to take day and night?

Yes hun, if you take it twice a day do morning and evening.

How are you all doing?

I'm so sad for all of the losses, but grateful for the posts and information. I start with a new doctor Tuesday and I'm going to demand progesterone testing.

I'm not so bad Tasha

Counting down the days till we can ttc again

Get Xmas out the way and the OH will be raped daily in the new year, hee hee

Xx

hi ladies does the progesterone give you cramoing as af not due for 10 days and for the last 2 days I have period like pain as if af is on the way

Rookie progesterone question... I will be 5DPO and CD22. When can the doctor do the progesterone testing?

Also, very rookie, but do I need to ask or say anything special or just tell him I've had 3 losses before 5 weeks and I want to check progesterone?

This is a new doctor, so I'm afraid they'll want to start from scratch, but I don't want to waste a cycle and want this tested ASAP. My other doc checked for everything except progesterone...didn't believe in it.

One thing to come out of all this sadness cutie, is that this is a wonderful supportive thread, some of these girls I've known for years now and they are like sisters to me, I love them so much.

Hope omg lol. I'm glad you're doing relatively okay.

I'm ovulating and I had a dream about a bring home baby last night. Hope it's a sign x

Kelly yes it can do.

Cutie, I don't know as I'm treated for progesterone issues without ever being tested because well it's better to have it than not is a lot of Drs opinions. I think the vast majority of girls on here who've got progesterone are the same. I imagine it would need to be a new cycle though as if you're pregnant it could affect the result x

Cutieq- I thought progesterone was day 1 and day 22?

Tasha - here's hoping that was lucky. I saw a fabulous rainbow today as well!

After meeting up with one of the ladies from this thread today, I am going to contact my doctor and try for progesterone testing. Also adding 75mg aspirin to my daily vitamin stock (800ug folic acid, Pregnacare complete, 250mg cod liver oil, and 20ug vitamin d.

I am also going to my gp to see about progesterone - the rmc nurse thinks "there may be something in it" because I made it further with the pregnancy which I conceived whilst on the POP.

We are ttc again in 5 weeks so really want to get everything sorted now as I have no folic acid stores because of the methotrexate, so if there is anything else you ladies can recommend then I would be really grateful!

I've read a lot of conflicting things so I wanted to ask the experts. Most say you test 7dpo. I will find out Tuesday and let you know!

I haven't looked into it for a while to be honest, I am going to a new doctors surgery and I don't know how knowledgeable they are!
