i know theres been quite a few threads on this topic i just searched it but all our babs seem to be drinking some and alice is just refusing milk alltogether :(

so far today she has had 6oz at 5am. she started getting really hungry at 10am so i went to give her her bottle and she had 3 sips!! she just spat it out and squirmed and threw herself back. shes already on the fastest flow teats because shes on comfort milk which is slightly thicker.
shes never been a big drinker but since i changed her milk powder when she was a few months old she got on really well with it.
not long ago she would drain 3 7oz botles and an 8oz for bedtime so she was having 29oz a day and yesterday she had 19oz.
but shes going to have even less today because she has missed a whole bottle whereas yesterday i managed to get 3oz in her at lunch time.
shes been having baby rice for 2 weeks because she was draining all her bottles but i stopped it when she started drinking less last week because obviously her milk is more important. then out of intrest i gave her some today and yesterday and she ate more than she used to and opened her mouth for more each time.
last week i blamed it on the heat messing her up but now theres no excuse lol

i dont know what else to try :( having 6oz early this morning is no where near enough but if she doesnt want it what am i supposed to do? sorry if it doesnt make much sense lol any advice atall? xx

My LO is being very similar usually she would drink 5oz no problem but not the past three weeks! I've just gone to feed her as she was starving and then had like an oz. Last night she took 3oz at 12, 1oz at 5:30am and then 2oz at 9am. I too blamed it on the heat.
Is Alice waking more to be fed little bits or still going 3/4 hours between her feeds?

shes still going the whole 4 hours before acting hungry. today she had 6 oz at 5am and then she just drank another 6 oz at 2pm after 45 mins of fighting it. so she missed out a whole 7oz feed today. i dont no whats up with her

Not sure.

I tried Anna a few times with baby porridge and rice and noticed she then didnt take all her milk so stopped with the rice/porridge.

Anna takes 24oz a day max and thats fine -she is gaining weight exactly as she should.

Maybe when she took 29oz she was on a growth spurt and it has settled now?

You said she had a 6oz at 5am and another at 2pm -missing out a feed. Anna doesnt get up til 9.30am so she would have a bottle at 10am and then at 2pm - consuming the same amount as Alice.

If she takes another 2 6oz today I would say dont worry. Or if she takes just half the bottle, then try a few oz more just say 2hrs later:flower:

she only had 3 bottles today. usually at 6,10,2,6 and shes been drinking all her milk from 3 months old and now shes just stopped. she only had 1 more bottle after her 2pm one. she had a total of 19oz again. maybe it just seems alot less because shes been having nearer to 30oz for so long.
im going to stop with the rice again and see how things go. i always worry shes not gettin enough because this is what happened when she was a few months old before i changed her milk. jus seems wierd how she would drain all her bottles for ages and then one day just decide she doesnt want it.

Hi, dont worry, it's a 5mnths phase. We posted the same when our LOs were 5 mnths old. It has to do with teething & early weaning. Sucking usually hurts their gums, & as they feel more comfy with taking the spoon, they usually refuse to take the bottle. Dont worry about it, give it some time, & she will get back to normal. Once she's 6 mnths old & she's on proper solids, she will not need more than 21-24 oz per day in addition to the solids. I started weaning at the same time u did. U can start injtroducing some baby jars or purees, & add more milk to her solids to make up for the missing feeds.

Omar is also not a big eater & he's on Anti reflux formula which is thicker & more filling than normal formula. If u need any help u can PM me.
