Removing the tape?

Its been (almost) 2 weeks since my EMCS, and the tape is still hanging on. Now its really starting to bug me and feels like its pulling on everything. Started peeling a corner in the shower this morning, and then stopped until I had called and talked to the nurse about when to remove it(just to be on the safe side), and she said it'd be fine to take it off IF its already starting to come off on its own. But its NOT and seems to be causing me more "pain" than anything else.
So now I'm wondering, if and when you removed the tape that was covering your incision? Any tips? I really don't know how much longer I can stand the tape hanging on there, but I also don't want to risk anything doing it too soon.

I removed the tape 7 days after my EMCS. The doctor said it was ok for me to do so. The tape probably is just sticking to your skin well. If the doctor said it was ok to take it off if it was peeling as long as you feel comfortable I would do it. I stood in the shower for 20 min with the water loosing the tape up for me

I also took mine off in the shower. That tape is meant to be sticky as hell, it keeps your incision closed. Once you get it off though it feels a lot better.

The midwife took mine off the next day in the shower.

I took mine off when they started to fall off. Tried to take it off before, it hurt SO bad.

I took mine off the next day, its like taking a killer plaster off, but I promise youll feel better with it off

Did they not put staples in? They only put the tape on mine after the staples were taken out which was I think 5-6 days after my CS. Then they said to wait 6 days and pull the tape off.

I was SO terrified to touch it in case it hurt, I just realized weeks after that the area was totally numb anyway since the nerves were cut that I could have ripped them all off anyway lol

Not sure about the poster you quoted but i didnt get stapled, just dissolvable stitches.

i was told to take mine off after 24hours! i got it wet in the shower, but couldnt stand up long enough for me to get it off, so i pulled it off in bed.

I took the tape off in the shower 24 hours after. Then the nurse came and took my staples out and I was sent home with steri strips.

Nope. No staples or outside stitches. All mine are internal that dissolve. I didn't even have the glue.

Some use staples, most don't. For my second I had staples as they were the surgeons choice hmmmm! Both times I took th tape off within 5 days as per me instructions , in the bath so they were we but didn't hurt at all coming off. Your scar should def be healed after 2 weeks enough to take tape off

I had my tape removed this morning 48 hours after delivery, came of really easily after having a shower to loosen it!

I finished taking the tape off this morning and it already feels so much better I had OH "examine" me last night to make sure and doubly sure tht nothing looked "out of place " an "still normal. He did say tht there was a small piece of like clear "fishing line looking" string poking out a bit on the one side still...stitches was our guess, but since I got the dissolvable ones, shouldn't it not be there? Its not hurting or affecting it in any way, its just kinda hanging out on the one side. Anyone got a more definite guess/idea on the string?

For me, removing the tape off my skin was terrible. That gunk left behind.i had to scrub it off with alcohol. I was so tender, but wanted it off!
