Out of boredom I was browsing through ads in the paper and I had a thought that I could rent out the extra room in my house. I mean it could bring in a few hundred extra dollars a month income...

but then it brings a whole list of stressful things to think of like backround checks, theft, having a stranger in my house where LO and I live... I could go on and on...

Have any of you done anything like this before? Any insight?

oh btw, some would advertise room for females only. hope this helps

I would never dream of putting a limit on their laundry usage... as long as it is only their laundry they are doing (not having their family drop off laundry!!)

Advertising to a female is definitely what I was thinking!!

You wont really 'earn' much out of it due to taxes you'll have to pay

Yeah my mum rents out 2 rooms in her flat (She doesn't live there) and she doesn't get much of a return money wise.
You have to be really careful aswell. One of her tenants shes had to kick out as he moved a rabbit in and his pregnant girlfriend (she said no partners or pets)
