Hi All

I'm sorry as this is pretty trivial compared to what some of you are having to go through but it's to the point now where I just don't know what to do anymore.

I am 28 weeks pregnant this Thursday so still 12 weeks to go and for the pst 4 weeks or so have had restless and achy legs every single night. I can't sleep, I can't sit still, I can't lie still, its awful.
Now I am getting swollen ankles and yesterday I had a physical indent of about 1cm where my socks had been - think its water retention but it makes walking difficult.

Still have a while to go and finding it really getting me down. Anyone know of any remedies or things that can help me please?

I know restless legs can be quite awful actually...I often get it quite mildly during pregnancy, usually in one leg...umm, I've read quite a lot about it- but not sure whether any of the things they might usually suggest would be any good in pregnancy (because often older people get it don't they..? remember my grandma had it) Apparently- regular exercise can be quite helpful- cif it's worse at night you could perhaps do an evening class, or swimming if you have a pool nearvb that opens in the evening (our nearest has adult only sessions or something up til 8pm) - could you be low on something? It's been linked to iron deficit- are you taking a good pregnancy supplement? Also- compression socks at night can sort of simulate the relief you get from massaging them, you know the type they recommend from pregs on long haul flights. If it's absolutely terrible, and affecting your sleep and so on, you could try asking your doctor if there's anything you could safely take for relief, some muscle relaxant or something.

sometimes restless legs can be caused by not enough magnesium or calcium ( at lest in non pregnant people) Al's you doctor about checking your levels or maybe a supplimenta to help
