ribs sticking out!?

I have always been able to feel Rio's ribs, but just recently I have noticed that his bottom ribs on either side stick out quite a bit more than the others and when he is lying down it is very noticeable.

I have attatched a picture, should I be concerned about this?

would his whole rib cage not be wide if that was the case?
its just the bottom rib on either side that sticks out way more x

My 2 year old is the same way! I was going to post this question too.

I think they go thru spurts..like first gaining weight and looking chunky...then growing taller and thinning out...
He looks totally fine tho

My sons rib cage has always stuck out at the bottom. I think its normal but it did freak me out when he was younger, especially when I googled it. Always a bad idea!!! I think it's just still developing and he will eventually grow out of it when he's a lot older.

Funnily enough I mentioned my son's ribs sticking out to my DH the other night. He just looked perplexed at me and said his ribs are the same. I wonder if it looks odd to us women as our ribs go in to accommodate our narrower waists?
