Hey all! I want to share a scary story with you about a product I purchased about a year ago. Its a vicks humidifier, Model V425. I only use a cool mist humidifier in my sons room overnight when he has a cold. The other morning when I went into his room to get him out of bed, the room smelled of electricity and the cord was very hot. I trained the Oakland Fire Academy and was taught to identify causes of fire through smell and I truly believe that had it continued to run, there would have been a fire in his room. Please be careful when keeping a running humidifier in your child room overnight. I have contacted the company and they offered to send me a new one...yeah right! Please please please, be so careful.
