scared baby swollowed bath water twice

I'd never heard of this "dry drowing" until today (possibly same thread we were looking at!) anyway, as far as going under the water, baby's are born with a "swimming" or "diving" reflex

Obviously, it's not something to do on purpose, but it won't harm them at all, my son is always trying to drink the water! He even tries to suck the water out of the sponge! We have to keep the sponge away from him as if he sees it, he'll grab it and put it straight to his mouth before you've got chance to take it away! Also, at swimming, when my hubby is swimming my son around the pool, he'll often take a few accidental gulps of water, as do the other babies! It's nothing to worry about x

Carmen swallows bath water all the time; she tries to drink the water poured over her head while I'm rinsing her hair, she sucks on her washcloth. Sometimes she'll end up coughing because she'll breathe in while she's chewing on the wet cloth. She's fine, does it every time she has a bath and hasn't had any ill effects. :)

I doubt they will make baby products with anything harmful. I don't know what dentinox is if it is something to be used on baby she should be okay. My LO sucks the water out of wash cloth

I just had a bath with lo. He noticed boobie was near by, tried to latch on and got a mouthful of bath water! Looked so confused! Doh!

From what I've read of "dry drowning", your LO would continue to show signs of sputtering or having a hard time breathing, long after having been taken out of the bath. If Lo is fine right after, then you've got nothing to worry about; babies swallow water all the time. :flower:
