Scared of the Sweep?!!

I was absolutely petrified of having a sweep done but yesterday the midwife came to my house and it was all over within 5-10mins.

I thought it would be a really invasive horrible experience so i wanted to let anyone know who is panicking about a sweep that it is really not that bad.

Its uncomfortable for about 20 - 30 seconds but lets face it a baby will be coming out of there soon so a finger isnt that bad in comparison lol.

Sadly the sweep didn't do much, I'm 6 days over at the mo, if nothing happens this weekend the midwife is coming back on Monday to do another sweep. If nothing happens after that one i will be heading to Pinderfields Thursday morning to be induced.

I really do hope if you are worried about a sweep you read this and it puts your mind at ease a little.

my sweep KILLED but it's only because my body was so not ready for labour at all! they didn't work either. went 14 days over x

I didn't find the sweep too bad either, reminded me of what period pain was too!!

my sweep was fine. felt like having a smear test with extra pressure. no biggy. had mine at 39 weeks too.

I didn't find the sweep too bad. It was uncomfortable but not as sore as I was expecting. I did joke to the midwife about upping my pain threshold Good luck and hope LO is here soon xx

40 week today and had a sweep at lunchtime. I was dreading it but didn't hurt in the slightest. Not even had any aches or pains since or any bleeding. Not sure of thats good or bad!

In all honesty I found the sweep the
Most painful part, including the contractions and pushing my daughter out! It truly was the worst bit for me- (but I did have 3 in 13 hours when they were inducing me so I was naturally very very tender by the third)

I had one done, and honestly the worst part was the docs knuckles scrapping along the outside of my lady parts, really not that bad at all, I did bleed for a bit, and then went into labor about 30 hrs later
