Indy- I'm glad you wrote that because then it gives me hope. And I do know the teachers are great, and they put alot of work in to ensure the children broaden their horizons. I have read To Miss With Love, by an inner city teacher and her efforts were amazing. I think the problem I have is it seems even with all of that, the students in some of these areas leave school and stay unemployed, i.e. it becomes cyclical.
I know this is no fault of the teachers, and they probably have mitigated the outcomes greatly, its just that I wish the current system could change so that there's more integration, and with that, hopefully more successful outcomes. x
