I am starting my first actual attempt at TTC this round.. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2006 but I had no intention of ever having kids (I was 20 and in college lol so I had no future plans as far as family). As a teenager I had heavy and excrutiating periods (as much as I hated them, I'd give anything to have them back) so my obgyn put me on Seasonale..which caused me to only have a period 4 times a year. Biggest mistake of my life. I sincerely believe this screwed me up but I guess thats a topic for another post. Fast forward to now.. I rarely have periods.. like im talking if I am lucky it comes once a year. I went to the obgyn that I grew up with shortly after getting married to start getting fixed so I can begin to TTC and his solution was for me to lose weight... and although I agree that I need to drop some weight, my period issues started in college while playing college level athletics. I was as fit as ever. My fatness is not what started all this. Fast forward to now and I have since gotten a female obgyn who immediately wanted to get me on track..lol basically this whole post is leading up to the fact that I am now on Provera to start my period and whenever that happens my obgyn wants to do bloodwork on CD3 and CD21 and then do a hysterosalpingogram. Has anyone taken provera for similar situations? is it taking as long as it's taking me to start a period? (I am on day 9 of 10 mg a day and still no AF) .. and has anyone had success with the HSG??

any advice support baby dust or fx would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi there!
I have a similar situation... I took Necon 0.5/35 birth control but I took it like seasonale so I only got my period 3-4 times a year. I've been off the pill a few months now and hadn't gotten a period so I saw my OB and she put me on Provera, 10mg a day for 10 days. I got my period the morning after my last pill but I know it can take anywhere up to 2 weeks after your last pill to get your period. Now I'm waiting for CD21 to do bloodwork to see if I ovulated or not after this induced period.
When is your last day of provera? I would call your OB if you haven't gotten your period within 2 weeks of your last pill. Good luck!!

I finally got AF on the 3rd day after the 10th pill of provera. I now have an appt for an HSG this friday.. hoping to have good results!
