I know this should probably go in the health section but here goes;

I have always been slim - after DD I returned to my normal weight in the blink of an eye. I know - great. However this time I've seemed to gain weight and so much abdominal fat and I've had to diet for the first time in my life! The issue I'm having is that I'm still not losing weight?! I'm going to the gym and working hard 3 times a week and eating 1/4 less calories than I was and limiting chocolate etc to once a week - I could eat however much of any food before and not gain a gram.

I'm only frustrated as I'm trying hard to lose weight and it's not working and I feel like giving up. I've gained 2 stone this time round and been trying to lose it for 2 months, my baby is 9 months old and as I say - a lot of it is abdominal fat - I've never had back rolls before until now!! 😠

Any advice ladies?

And when I say I'm not losing weight - I haven't moved from 11 stone 9 lbs.. 😤

I have no advice except to say that I am right there with you! This is my first baby though and I've never had weight problems prior to this. We eat healthy, I have always been very active, I am training for a triathlon and ultra marathon, and I haven't lost a single pound since my 6 week appointment. I also seem to have a lot of abdominal fat. I can tell that I am very, very slowly toning up a bit, but it is hardly noticeable. I am just going to keep doing what I am doing because what other choice is there? I personally will not just give up and learn to live with my new size, so I am just going to keep plodding along and be patient. What is stressing me out is that we will be trying for baby number 2 in September and I really want to have lost all the weight from baby number 1, but I really don't see that happening.

My husband can't lose weight even if he starves himself unless he cuts out certain foods like starchy carbs.
He lost quickly on Paleo.

I belive hormones can alter how you absorb calories. I have the opposite problem :(

I can't lose weight until I wean the baby.. I am very active, eat mostly healthy and work out 3-5 days a week yet the scale hasn't budged for months now. I typically nurse 13/14 months and after weaning the pounds come off quickly.

Exactly the same here, I was back to a size 8 6 weeks after having ds1 without trying and yet despite being a lot more active still have a big tummy and saggy skin this time round. I carried a lot bigger with ds2, he was transverse and tore my abdominal muscle so I feel like I will never get my figure back :cry:

Your not alone ! I've 2.5 stone to loose . LO , no 2 is only 13 weeks but I feel like a blob!! Never ever had such a wobbly belly !!!!

My second is 14 months and I'm still having an issue shifting the weight. I've always gained easily but have been able to control it. With my first I didn't lose until I stopped breastfeeding. I was expecting the same the second time around but no luck. I'm really bummed out about it.

Maybe get your thyroid checked? After losing the weight the few weeks after birth my weight stalled.. Turns out my thyroid wasnt working properly!

Thanks ladies! I'm trying to eat a little less which is hard! But once I've lost the weight I can eat a little more again to maintain it...just got to lose it first! And yes someone mentioned my thyroid - ill get it checked thanks

I'd say eat right, exercise and love your body for the amazing things it does and has done. The weight came off slower for me the second time around as well and although I did eventually go back to my pre-pregnancy weight, I was prepared to accept the new me if the weight stuck around longer.

I lost my baby weight pretty easily after DS1 and DS2 but I'm completely stuck with this one. I have not budged since one week pp, no matter what I do, and have a good 2 stone to lose. I'm reluctant to reduce my calories too much while breastfeeding so am going to try to follow the approach of the body coach instead to see if that works (more intensive exercise combined with plenty of good protein rather than bulky carbs in my diet). If nothing else, it should improve my toning and fitness.

Thanks ladies! Yes more intensive exercise and less carbs more protein is what I'm doing - although my intensive exercise is 3 gym sessions/classes a week as that's all I can fit in! I've lost 3lbs so only need to lose another 6lbs as I was too skinny before anyway but as you say I don't want to skip too many calories as need to function with 2 babies and work! We'll get there - as Sarah said - our bodies are anazing
