So I'm 40+5 and today my MW said my cervix is very closed and not ready at all and booked me for induction at 41+5.

Really not happy about it at all - and have been active, walking, bouncing, drinking RLT etcetera etc but MW said it's rare for second time mums or more to need inducing as a result of being overdue.

So my question is - any of you second timers or more needed inducing because of being overdue?

You never 'need' to be induced and you don't have to be even if your midwife suggests it. It's your choice and it's not necessarily safer and healthier if you're otherwise healthy and baby is doing well, even at 41 or 42 or even 43 weeks.

second third fifth all induced due to overdue even if you are closed it can change very quickly xx

So clearly my MW was a little restrictive with the truth!

As she said she'd never known a second timer need induction...

Was booked in to be induced with #2 but went into labour in the way to the hospital. Was induced with #3 at 13 days late. I had one pessary which kicked things off. To be fair, my mw kept telling me I'd go on my own but ds#2 just needed a wee kickstart!
