September Stars

Blimey it's been quiet in here today! Must be all the lovely weather!

Louise, bless you, I was half laughing half crying about you posting all pished but being upset about Wayne at the same time! Hope you've not had too much of a thick head today! Loving all your new pics of Lilia on FB, her hair is just amazing!

Sarah, sorry to hear about your colds, sounds as though you have a lovely Easter weekend lined up though.

Well, the inevitable has happened..... Sam has chicken pox! How bizarre is it that it's exactly 2 weeks to the day that Jack came down with them!? We were all messing around outside, and I saw this pink thing in his hair, had a closer look and discovered it was indeed a blister. He's now got a couple more in his hair, one on his hand, and a few more appearing under his skin. I anticipate some popping up overnight, coupled with a (another) crap night's sleep for me and Sam! He spent half the night in our bed last night, and at one point it did occur to me that I was slightly peed off with having a baby hanging off my boob. Still, easier than coming down and sorting a bottle out I suppose.
Anyway, so for all my thinking that Archie would be next, especially with him being off colour this last few days, it was Sam!
We've done a bit of a bed swap between MIL, us and DH's cousin, so we've inherited a fab set of proper bunk beds, better than what the boys have been in up to now. So the big swap happened today, and the beds are just great, reallly solid. Not cost us a penny either, which is great! And the boys love em!

Hope we're all enjoying this lovely weather. I am off to bed soon I think, hoping for a decent sleep, another busy day tomorrow. x

Bunk beds! Hurrah!
That's my plan for our boys once Simon's a bit older.
Both of their cribs convert to toddler beds, so they'll be in those for a couple more years and then bunks!
My brother and I shared bunk beds from when we were 5 and 3 up to 7 and 5, then I got my own room and bed and he continued sharing them with our littlest brother for another six years. I think they're great for kids!
If we do have #3 next year, I think we'll move Simon into this:
https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/10123996
We would then have the option of putting the toddler Tobe on a mattress on the floor or using the space underneath for dressers/play space/whatever.

Poor little Sam and his pox! but hey - at least you've been prepared for them to make an appearance and he'll get them over with. They vaccinate for them here now.

Oh, and do I ever hear you on the baby on the boob all night! Between teething and this minor cold, Tobe wants to nurse himself well. I don't mind, but I get a sore back nursing him all night. It's not great for his teeth, either, to be immersed in breastmilk all night.

Simon needs to nap! He is sick and really needs to have a sleep. I am very very close to going in and giving him a dose of kiddie benadryl to dry up his nose and knock him out. Drugging my child to sleep - does that make me abad mother?

Not at all Sarah! Poor lamb. Hope he feels better too.

And Sam also. I hope he doesn't suffer too much. X

It is so reassuring hearing from other breeding mums x

Asher sorry to hear sams got the pox at least it out the way for him now, it won't be hanging over you !

Louise hope your feeling okay ! :)

We went for a picnic in the park this afternoon and then met some friends in the pub garden the girls were great and played on the rug and enjoyed the fresh air.

This weather Is great could get used to it !

Oh no chicken pox :nope:

Sarah :hugs: it's so hard when they feed so so much

I really do wonder when rosalie will start to sleep...

Well although I said that I was never going on holiday outside the uk with girls I'm not thinking of going to morocco  I have always wanted to go and well this time I don't expect to get to sit and relax :haha:

Yep Blob, we got over it with Jack, and now it's back!! Grrrrrr!!!

Your day sounds fab GG!

Harry is doing well thanks Claire. He is so desperate to be mobile that he just can't sit still and gets angry if he is strapped into a car or if he just generally isn't able to move freely. Little monkey. X

You don't know what's best, having it at the same time or having it like that.

GG your day does sound fab :) I spent the afternoon digging up the garden :dohh:

Poor Tobe and Sammy hope they both feel better soon.

Blob wish our garden was big enough to need to do any gardening, our grass only gets cut using a strimmer as it's 1mx1m ... Damn city living :)

Louise hope your head wasn't too bad from last night, hope you get to speak to Wayne soon xx

Think the creams and bathing have started to heal jjs back today and his 2nd tooth has cut through this afternoon too which may explain his nasty nappies the past couple if days. He still doesn't seem bothered by it.

Can't believe how warm it has been, I'm worried the summer is going to be a scorcher as jjs room has the window open fully and it's still over 22c already. He'll have to sleep in just his nappy at this rate!

Finally gave JJ his first finger food today after a large helping of cod cheese, butternut squash, sweet potato, large portion of apple and strawberries. I gave him half a large banana in slithers thinking he'd probably just play with it .... Nope down the hatch. Im really struggling to feed him this week he just wants more and more all the time and my food just doesn't seem to satisfy him. It's strange last week he was upset and just wanted milk. Definatly going to try some more finger foods but only fruit and veg not bread and biscuits etc as I want to make sure it's not an allergy or intolerance that is causing his rashes.

My friend is 39 weeks pregnant and due this Wednesday ..... I really feel for her because she's so uncomfortable in this heat. Can't sleep, can't go out except sit in the car with aircon blowing, her feet gave ballooned too.

Jc that is great news about JJ. Hopefully he will be completely better soon. It must be tiring with all his eating. Harry isn't a great eater so I can only imagine.

Btp, hope you managed some sleep. Harry has been unsettled at our holiday home so this is his third wake up.. very tiring. X

BTP I'm going to be selling a few nappies if you're interested?

Don't apologize, Louise! It was very cute and funny! :)

Trying to get the hell out the door here. Very bad sleeping night from both boys and everyone is tired and grumpy and not very focused. It makes getting out the door for a couple of simple errands absolutely epic for frustration.

lbb - glad James is out of hospital. Very scary! Hope you get some answers soon! :hugs:

becs - hope you do well at the sale! Sorry to hear Hope is suffering from hayfever. Poor munchkin!
