Suzielou, happy 4 months to Harley! Good luck with getting him weighed tomorrow, let us know how you get on x

i was contemplating a naming ceremony but not too sure...i think it's a little strange as i'm basically just saying to everyone...'hey guys this is my son n i'm a single mum!!' it'll just open up a whole days of people just sayin...'so has his dad been in contact?'...don't think i could be civil about him for more than a 5 min convo lol

:coffee:
on the other hand...i had a row with the bloody chemist this mornin, jack has eczma on his face so i rang the nurse for a prescription for oilatum

...so i get it n take it to the chemist, got the stuff n went home...they've given me junior bath stuff n normal bath stuff but no cream

...so i took it back to swap it n they said they can't do it without a prescription, i pointed out that i did have one but it's the wrong stuff they've gave me, she said no they'd given it right the nurse had writen it wrong

...so go to the docs...she does the prescription again ...then wait for the doc to sign it

...take it back to chemist

...THEY HAVEN'T GOT THE BLOODY CREAM!!! :growlmad:argh!!...

OMG i wanted to hit something or someone!...the whole process took me an hour n jack started screaming for food...so i went to the pub accross the way (where i work) n had a glass of wine while i fed jack to calm down lol

sorry for the rant i'm in a bit of a mood today:wacko:

lhamil, how annoying about the prescription! I hate it when things like that happen gggrrrrr :growlmad:

Hope everyone is ok today. I'm off to the gym again this afternoon when OH gets back from work. I have an appointment with a personal trainer to go over my routine, oh god, I'm terrified!!! I'm really unfit, like seriously bad and hope he's not going to try and make me run for anymore than a minute or I think I'll pass out lol!

lhamil- god that is so annoying! when are they going to get more in? U definitely deserved that glass of wine after all that!

Vicks- oh my god good luck! I am so unfit too! Well done for doing something about it! Let us know how u get on! Hows Joe doing with his teething?

Hey Diz! We are good thank u, madam was up every half hour last night, from 2am onwards, so i'm feeling a little like a zombie today!

We looked at Izzy's teeth properly yesterday, one at the bottom to the left has broken through the gum, then the one above it is very nearly through, and we think she has a back one coming through too! So definitely not in the right order! And no wonder she is being a little madam!
Anyone else's LO teething? Any recommendations? To be honest none of the teething gels seem to have much of an effect, and teething rings etc not much use, her favourite thing is to bite my finger, that keeps her happy for ages!!!

Morning All

Hope you all had a good night sleep - we were up far too many times last night!!

On the discussion of Christenings, we are getting Isaac christened in March on the same weekend as my mum's 50th as we have family all over the place, so will hopefully have everyone up.

You don't have to be christening to get married in a church, see.. https://www.cofe.anglican.org/lifeevents/weddings/

Scally - Isaac's teeth are giving him some issues at the moment.. have you tried Ashton powders? They are quite expensive (£2.50 for 10 sachets) and you get them from a chemist, but I have found when he is screaming in pain, you put a bit on and it instantly takes the pain away!

Hey Kathryn- I have got the powders but keep forgetting to use them when she is bad! I will try that next time, maybe when she wakes me up in the night, might get her off quicker!
Is Isaac waking u up loads in the night with his teeth too?

I'm not sure if it's always his teeth or just a growth spurt... some times he has been squealing in pain when he wakes, but normally he just wants food!

We found that the powders stopped the pain and when it is his teeth is just fell back to sleep almost immediately!

Vicks- oh my god good luck! I am so unfit too! Well done for doing something about it! Let us know how u get on! Hows Joe doing with his teething?

Joe's doing well thanks. He actually slept through the night last night without waking :happydance: First time in about 3 weeks, so I woke up feeling strangely refreshed, but am not counting my chickens yet! Tonight may be another "awake" one!! We'll see....

His teeth don't seem to be giving him any grief anymore. I think it was actually the growth spurt more than teething, but I haven't had a good look around at his teeth in a week or so, so will have to investigate!!

How's Izzy doing? Is she feeling better now after her injections? How's her sleeping now?

Ooh, forgot to say, Hi Kathryn!! Hope you and Isaac are ok xxxx

thats interesting cos me and OH looked at church wedding in 2006 and we were told as OH hadnt been christened or baptised we couldnt unless he was done b4 the wedding. and i was also told this back in 2002 when my eldest was born.

****MOAN****

the mortgage company have taken payment twice this month (both been issued by bank) and therefore i am totally skint! they have said they will re-imburse 1 of them but this can take 3weeks! anyway last night my boiler backed in, so i have no hot water or central heating and no money to pay for a repair. why does it all happen at once????

i am sat waiting for the engineer to come out to see whats wrong - £74 just for him to come out and tell me it broke, then its £26 an hr after that! i've raided the kids money boxes and took the last out of bank in hope i have enough to cover it.

whats more annoying is that it was only serviced the 10th dec. and was in full working order. plus its not even 5yrs old!

Amy- that is so bad about your mortgage, surely they have to realise that people really depend on that money, reimburse quick!

Vicks- glad Joe is better, fingers crossed the sleeping through continues!

Well Izzy had me up every half hour last night from about 2am, thats her record so far!!! lol. She did get better Wed night i was so chuffed, she only got up at 2, 3.30, 4.30 and 5.30 that night! Amazing what seems like a great night sleep after the rough ones we've been getting! I am hoping this month long phase ends soon, and she hasnt now got a very bad habit!

Amy, thats terrible about the mortgage company :( Hope they get the money back to you quickly and the boiler is fixed too. It's always at the same time, it's so crap :( Big hugs to you hun x

Scally - You poor thing hun. Are you feeding Izzy during the night when she wakes, or just the once still? Have you tried a dreamfeed before you go to bed?

x

thanks ladies.

stuff never happens when theres a spare £50/100 in the bank after all bills have been paid etc. its just really annoying.

i'm tempted to tell mortgage to keep it and use it for feb payment and cancel DD and re-set it up after feb. dont know what they will say, but by the time they get it back to me its going to be a few days b4 its due out again.

hugs to you with teething babies and those waking for feeds. the only time blake is now waking is if he gets his arms/legs caught in the bars of cot.

hi all,

still sat here freezing cold waiting for an engineer to come out. have rung the company again as the website says they finish at 4:30pm and the woman other end assures me i am booked in for today and will be seen today no matter what time it is.

me doesnt believe her!!!

Oh Amy, hopefully they'll turn up soon.

Well I saw the personal trainer who told me I need to push my workouts so they're harder so showed me what I should be doing. I am so un-fit I nearly passed out and had to sit on the floor with my head between my legs so I didn't faint! Atleast my birthing breathing techneques came in handy!!! I'm such a loser lol!!

So I'm back home now and aching already. Tomorrow I'll be lucky if I can get out of bed :)

OMG amy how crap about the money and boiler...it always happens all at once, hopefully they will be able to keep it as febs!!....fx'd anyways :)

scally - poor u getting up so often, do u know why shes waking, is she hungry or just fussing...mason still seems to be fine altho he woke at 7am today for a HUGE feed and then at half 9againg like he usually does for another HUGE feed lol....must be this damn growth spurt!!

Vicks - bloomin heck woman are u alright after nearly fainting, i actually LOL'd there when i read it hehe sorrrry!....but good on u gettin back on track...im still doing my tai bo vid...arms are aching i tell ya!!

wel mason has the cold... im not sure if its maybe from his jags as its only after he had them, hes really snotty and Pleghmy(sp?) and has a niggly cough too  still smiley as ever tho, bless him!

we went to the asda baby event and stocked up on wipes/nappies/babygrows the lot....also got bowls, spoons, plastic bibs and cups ready for weaning...oh and rusks(fpr me haha)....oh yeah and a bath chair now £10 and a door bouncer now £10 which mason LOVES btw!!....saved loadsa pennies, i love it!! :haha:

well the repair guy has been and left! costing me £74.

i still have no heating and hot water - the "motherboard" has burnt out and isnt a part the company stock! so they have ordered it and it will be in on monday. the part and fitting is going to cost me the best part of £300 on monday! (that i dont have).

luckily my nan has loaned me 2 electric heaters, so i have put all 3 boys in 1 room and a heater in there and the other is in lounge at mo.

Amy- sorry to hear they couldnt fix it

Vicks- haha! :haha: poor u, your muscles are going to kill tomorrow!
We have stopped feeding Izzy, it didnt make a difference, we are going to try a dreamfeed tonight though, maybe maybe she might go longer? I dont mind though its OH night duty and i get a lie in tomorrow til 9 :happydance:

Rachydaz- I think she is waking up because of her teeth, we thought feeding her had cracked it, but after a few nights success she woke every hour still. Sometimes she wakes up sobbing, sometimes talking that gets louder and louder until we see to her! I hope Mason gets better soon. We are goin to the Asda event this weekend so will hopefully get lots!

Have u tried calpol scally??....mason has 3 teeth comin in 2 bottom back and 1 top front!! bless him and when hes fussy at bed time with teeth we give him half of the amount they are meant to get of calpol, so a 1/4 spoonfull....and he is fine during the night?!....just a thought u could try?

Aww hugs to all you ladies that have to get up in the night.....dont hate me, Harley has slept through the night since a week old!!! Just once or twice last two weeks when he had bronciolitus.
Hey Rach, weve been to asda today also.....loads of bargains to be had!!! Stocked up on farleys seeing as they are half price, Harley does love his farleys mixed with milk in the morning!! Also got some vests, but im now getting worried at how much weight my little chunkster is putting on, as i thought i would get size 6-9months thinking he may have some room to grow into them.........but no, tried one on when got home and he will be lucky to be inthem for a couple of weeks!! Wish i had got him weighed today ( went shopping instead lol ) So im really not looking forward to getting him weighed weds, i know the hv is not gonna be happy with me for putting him on solids already, but i know hes ready. Any way im now rambling so im gonna shut up and go watch bb!! Have a good weekend all, ive got a quite one as the 3 older kiddlies are at nan and bamps...woop woop x x x
