I've been reading that alot of you mom's are feeding your lo up to 5-7 oz at a time! My lo is technically 3 months, but because she was a few weeks early, she's a corrective age of 2 months. Now that that is explained...
Betty takes about 3 oz every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. This week she started sleeping for 4-5 hours at night (thank god!) so she is missing at least one bottle there. Her weight is about 11 lbs. All together she gets about 30 oz a day. She seems satisfied.
Should her feeds be bigger, you think? And how could I go about that?

Apparently they should be fed about 2ozs per every pound of weight so anything over 22ozs is fine. I would say 30ozs is more than enough and I would only give more if she seems to want it. What you could start doing though is increasing the time between feeds and so then giving her more e.g - 5-6ozs every 3 hours instead of 3ozs every 1.5 hours. Once she gets used to bigger gaps between feeds she will probably sleep for even longer at night too. x

it sounds like she is getting enough overall and I think 3oz every 1 1/2 - 2 hrs sounds fine! all babies are different, some are snackers feeding little and often, some have more oz's and go a bit longer. x

rhys is about 11lbs now he's a terrible snacker, he drinks about 3-4oz every 2 maybe 3 or sometimes and hour lol, i asked the hv if i should be trying to make him go longer and drink more she said 'well ye if you can put up with him crying' well i cant lol so i just give him what he wants.
they only have little stomachs so little and often is fine, rhys doesnt drink so much his tummy is overfull and then pukes, he's not puked once yet.
xx

Have you tired giving her more at a feed? She may well want it, if she doesnt shes getting plenty of milk anyway hun i wouldnt worry

i was going to say the same as pp, perhaps try offering her more per feed and see how she goes, she sounds like your doing fab though :)

Yeah, she's not sucking the 3 ounce bottles dry, and the formula I'm using is expensive (but awesome, worth every penny) so I'm a little hesitant to really push for more all the time when it just goes down the drain. As far as a longer wait between bottles, I don't want to fight with her over food.
Yeah I'm not really worried, just jealous :dohh:

Rhys hasnt finished a bottle either i've tried allsorts to make him go that bit longer he'll drink 4oz in the morning with a tiny bit left, hv suggested to me giving an ounce of water if he doesnt go longer than 2 hrs but that didnt work either. they must be classic grazers
