Hi,

Just interested if anyone had gone through this process?

I work 13 hours a shift both night and day covering 365 days a year. In blocks of 5 continuous shifts then a break. My mat leave has ended now and I wanted to work part time

I've had my meeting, been informed by writting it's rejected as apparently it isn't possible to do my job on less than full time hours in a shift role. I do work for a large global company so you would of thought they could help !!!!

I'm going to appeal as I don't think it's fair as it seem either ft post or nothing . However has anyone appeals made flexible working happen ? Or is this just a big waste of time ? And still been rejected ?

Thank you

No clue how it works where you live- but for instance, for my job, PT is not an option. Period. We get Salary for the 40hrs a week we work- and in order to do my job I do need to work 5 days. I have the flexibility of working from home as needed- and I do work from home every Friday. Would that be a possibility at your job?

I would think you either have the option or you don't- just depends on the job and what it entails and the company and their rules. There are PT positions available at my company- but not in my specific area of work. But I'm in the states.

Maybe others have better insight. Best of luck!
