At the moment we do a big shop weekly then go to the shops a couple of times a week to get bits and bobs. Seen as though theres only 2 of us and a 6 1/2 month old we spend about £60 a week on our main shop then about £20 throughout the week. I feel like we dont get much for our money and we waste bits.

I was thinking of starting to do a planned big shop each month of all the main things then meal plan and do a small little shop each week just for bread, meats etc.

Does anyone do this kind of thing and does it save you money, do you think we spend alot and any tips of getting it down a bit :)

We sort of do this. There's this grocery store about an hour away that has great sales once a month so we get a great deal on meats, eggs, cheeses, bread, and fresh veggies and we freeze everything but the eggs. Then weekly we get things like milk, fruit, yogurt, and any extras we need for meals during the week. The first thing we bought as a married couple was an upright freezer

I pretty much have to plan my meals for the month by doing this so it works great if you are a planner.
