Should I get a Birth Pool?

Do I need one for a homebirth?

I do not intend to give birth in it but it does help relieve pain....

Should I get one??

I have one even though I don't plan on birthing in it. I wouldn't have bothered if I had a nice deep bath. Ebay is great for cheap pools but be warned the birth pool in a box has the most awful pictures on the side

I bought one because the lovely midwife who did my home birth assessment highly recommended it. The only reason I hadn't bought one at that point was because I was worried about leakage and the weight of the filled pool. I bought the mini birth pool in a box and have inflated it for a look and it seems quite spacious so I'm hopeful that it will provide some form of relief.

I`ve been offered a second hand one in the box. So I`m thinking I may as well, it will be another help during the labour after all.
