hi everyone, i cant decide if i should start taking baby asprin or not, i dont really now much about it about from if thins the blood(?) I would really like to hear from everyone if theyve decided to take it or not? and why? if thats okay. Also if i do take it when do you start and when do you stop?
thank you in advance for your answers as this is very important to me, i really cant bare the thought of having to go though another mc and as my doctor isnt very understanding im not getting any help from him :nope:

I think your best bet is to ask your doctor. Best of luck!

Hi tink! I'm so sorry for your loss.

After my second mmc, I was advised to take 75mg of aspirin daily from the first day I get my bfp. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and had a positive scan last Monday. I don't know whether it's the baby aspirin or not but I have a feeling it might just be.

If you're not getting any joy from your GP, try phoning your local EPU or the ward you were on (if you had your mc in hosp of course) My doc has had minimal input in my pregnancies or miscarriages for that matter.

I really hope you get your sticky bean :hugs:

thanks, hope all goes well for you hun. my gp is no help what so ever and refuses to believe there could be a problem, all he keeps saying "its just one of them things". i honestly dont see how it can be when its happened 3 times!:growlmad:

how long are you planning on taking it for or do you take it all the way through?

Also i know this might seem like a silly question (and pls forgive me if it is! lol) but if you do end up miscarrying will your bleed be okay if youve taken baby aspirin??:wacko:
thanks again xx

I cannot believe that you're getting no help after 3 mc's. If I were you I'd be looking for a new doctor.

I'm really not sure how long I'm supposed to be on it I'll ask at my appt on Thursday and get back to you.

I'm sure that aspirin won't make a difference to any bleeding but I'm not 100% bout that either! Again I'll ask on Thursday :)

i am on BA now per the advice of my RE, but i have a blood clotting problem. if i were you and my doctor were not being helpful, i would put myself on a high doseage of folic NOW and start BA right at bfp  that's just me. i would not accept that it is just "one of those things". my OB tried to pull that shit when i had my second mc but i went over his head and went to see a specialist instead.

thank you both for the advice, i will start taking the folic acid asap and have the baby aspirin on stand by for BFP. To be fair even though my doctor is like the most unhelpful guy, its not really his fault, its the nhs health trust i fall under - i dont meet their criteria to qualify!!...thank god for bnb or id be well and truly buggered!
embo, yes if you could let me know that would be great x

While you are self-medicating :haha: I wanted to add that I would also get some natural progesterone cream to use. Do some research because there is a specific kind that is not supposed to be used in pregnancy and another kind that is good for pregnancy.

I am on baby asprin & was taking it each time i got pregnant. With Megan I saw a different dr at 6 weeks who told me to stop taking it - so I did. I have borderline high bp & when pregnant with megan I had issues with it. My placenta was small as well. I saw the dr who delivered her before I started to ttc #2. She said that I could take baby asprin - wasnt saying I should -but that I could is how she said it. She said - it might help - it might not. So I started taking it again. I got pregnant right away & then miscarried at 6 weeks. Bleeding wasnt very heavy w/ that miscarriage. Didnt try again til March - & then got pregnant. Miscarried at 6 1/2 weeks w/ very very heavy bleeding. Dr I saw that time said it was possibly because of the baby asprin. (the heavy bleeding - not the miscarriage). She talked to their fertility person about my situation & I had seen another dr before that at the beginning of the miscarriage - so 3 different drs involved. I was told to continue the baby asprin - even before ttc. They said any women that get refered (which is after 2 or 3 miscarriages depending on the situation) they always put them on baby asprin. I wasnt being refered because I've had Megan & they assume its just bad luck, one of those things, etc. If I have a 3rd miscarriage then I would be refered & they would do testing, etc.

:hugs: I am sorry for your losses.

DaisyBee, that reminded me of one thing... I've only had one period since starting the aspirin, but it was much heavier than normal which sucks! I'm certain it was because of the aspirin because I normally have light periods.

It also makes me bruise very easily - I have bruises all over these days! Especially with a toddler running into me - I must look a sight!

Thank you all for the information, it as been much appriciated. I know nothing is guarented to work, but anything that might is more than worth the try. I've been doing as much reading up as I can. I do really think that something is causing my mc and they wasn't just 'one of them things' as they have all followed the same pattern (baby seen on scan with heartbeat, but very small for dates and continues to grow very slowly - around 1mm per week).... X

That sounds like me tinkerbell. With both my angels I was measuring 10 to 14 days too small. Saw heartbeat but gone by 7 weeks :(

Aww Im so sorry hun, I really hope everything goes well for you this time. I will defenitly be taking the baby aspirin this time, hope it works for me too xx

I hope the same for you too. Miscarriage's are the worst things I've ever had to go through :hugs:

tinkerbell, from what i have read of your mc, i think it really could be a blood clotting problem. with the slow heartbeat and growing slowly, that is totally what happens. basically, clots form in the veins that feed the placenta so the blood supply is slowly cut off. my RE said the clots are so tiny (size of a pin prick) that you would never be able to tell they are there on an ultrasound.

it is too bad you can't get in to see a specialist that can run some tests on you.

That must be how my bean is surviving then.
Thanks for the explanation girlnextdoor. I've never heard it explained like that. The nurse just told me they offer baby aspirin to ladies after 2 miscarriages and it's proven to be very successful

I hope this is your forever baby and you never have to go through another loss like that again :hugs:

Thank you. I hope and pray the same for you. You have three tiny angels
