If LO has sickness bug, how long do I need st stay away from Toddler Group / Swimming Class / Nursery?

Is it 24 / 48 hours?

48 hours after the last episode of sick or diarrhoea.

I think some people err on side of caution and say 72, but generally recognised as 48.

Ok thanks. Has been sick this morning again, so think toddler group tomorrow is out of the question!

I think different places have different policies. At least 24 hours since last vomit or diarrhea episode is a common one here, but diarrhea can easily lat 2 weeks in little ones with a stomach bug. You may want to check with the nursery what their policy is. The poop will be contagious for at least the next month so be vigilant about hand washing for a while, as they (and you) can get re-infected easily (strangely some stomach bugs are not like colds for example, you can actually catch the same one again, it takes weeks for immunity to build up). Also, see how LO is feeling. She may not be up for much activity for a while, and besides you may be sick by Tuesday as well. These things are damn contagious. Oh how I hate stomach bugs....

I will contact them I think. Thanks. No sickness now since this morning...so far! I have it to but mildly.

Bless her she not herself & just wants to watch tv, me tumble is doing my head in though!
Going to have to think what to do tomorrow as can't go to toddler group!

Hi, sounds like it varies yes, my LO has one and I was told 48 hrs since last episode but we are now on day 6 of sickness Keep thinking it's over, she will go for more than a day and then bam. So far so good today FX!
