Hi ladies just wanted some advice..
My lovely mother has offered to buy us a very generous gift and it's too beautiful to refuse I'm just a bit concerned about the size. We measured and it's huge, do you think I should buy another pram for other occasions or do you think this will be fine?
I've got no experience with prams at all and I've heard the coach built prams can be awkward to take around shops and on/in certain transport etc.

Has anyone had experience with these or know anyone that has?

Here's the picture

It is beautiful but I cant see it being practical at all. I would def have a different pram for some times. Supermarkets have wide aisles so it would be fine to take it there and for say walks in the park or down the street. But to shop in clothes stores, it would be difficult to weave in and out of clothes as they tend to put randomly and quite close together. I cant imagine it being good on rough terrain, so walks in the country would be out. It wouldnt fit on any transport here, well apart from double door trains, though not sure the suspension would make that easy to get it on, how much does it weigh? Going in a car etc would be impossible. Lots to think about.

37kg/81lb, wow that is super heavy too. Lifting it up curbs even will be a chore, and lifting it onto a train is out unless there would be two or more of you there.

You are welcome, where abouts do you live? In the UK, some of the kiddicares have them on display (Hayes and Peterborough that I know of) and also some John Lewis'. Maybe go and have a play with one?

It's a gorgeous pram but I agree with Tasha, probably not the most practical for modern living. I know of a couple of people who had secondhand ones and just used them either in the house or garden for baby to sleep in and for walks locally and had a lighter/more compact pram for trips in the car or on public transport :)

*drool* that is beautiful!
It wouldn't be any good for using on public transport, even with a newborn I was sometimes made to fold down my pram (which was in two parts) and hold the baby, plus the shopping and that was a lightweight pram!
But it would look very pretty when walking down the street! :)

A friend of mine has one of these. She loves it, but definitely doesn't use it as her main pram. She uses it for lovely walks and it looks amazing in pictures (never seen it in real life). She's used it with her five children, so has got plenty of use out of it over time. I would definitely have something else for every-day use as well though. You'd also need quite a large hall to store it or a garage that was damp-free and could keep it in a beautiful condition.

I love the idea of one of these and coveted my friend's one for a while, but here in near-enough-central London I would barely have a chance to use it. Our house is a Victorian terrace and I'm not sure it would fit through our doorway, let alone in our narrow hall. Busses wouldn't work either.

Its beautiful. I have a silvercross 3d which is a lovely pram but i found heavy and a pain in shops and difficult putting up and down so i would never use as main push chair. I love my petite star which is a small push chair folded up and light it was about £100, alot of my friends bought after seeing mine instead of their expensive onrs and also ergo carrier. Prams like that are lovely for walks as long as dont need public transport. I loved my silver cross for walks (though obviosly mine is a cheaper version of one you posted lol)
