Hi all just popping over from first tri, I'm due in Feb.

My DD will be 3 in Feb, and because I don't drive will probably still need the pushchair for days out/long trips as her little legs get tired.

I'm looking at the iCandy Peach 3 Blossom, which is beautiful, but very pricey, but great as I can use it with the carrycot for baby and have DD walk with me for short trips, and then for long trips I can attach the second seat for her.

I was just wondering if anyone has experience with these type of pushchairs? And if you feel it's worth forking out the money for?

People have told me about babywearing instead but I'm just not really sure about the practicality of that for such long journeys. I would perhaps do that for shorter trips to the park when DD is walking. I had a sling for DD but she would never sleep in it so I gave up on it.

I didn't use my double afta my son turned about 2 & half but we don't really go on long journeys but you might find she refuses to go in a pram them plus might be pretty heavy to push. X

Have you thought about a buggy board maybe? By three my little boy hardly ever used the pushchair and even when we did I would be pushing around an empty pushchair for most of the day.

Just making you aware icandy seats are notoriously small. The peach seats are especially small (they say up to 3 years old but I think the children look so squashed in them)

I had an icandy Apple 2 pear which is cheaper than the peach and was planning on turning that in to a double for my 19month old and new baby but my daughter is also our growing that seat.

We have decided to go for the bugaboo donkey, and im very happy with it. It is pricey though but the fact it turns in to a single was a sling point to us and the fact that one isn't behind the other as it looks so squashed. Plus the child behind can't see anything other than the seat in front on the other prams I looked at.

Personally we definitely need a pram my daughter is nowhere near ready to walk every where. She has tantrums when out, still naps, gets tired easily and doesn't walk in the right direction so for us a double pram is a must. I do have a baby carrier though but sometimes I personally feel like I need my own space without carrying a baby around everywhere, that's personal though.

Honestly I think if my first was so close to 3 years old id question about buying a really expwnwice double. I would either get a double second hand as you can get them in great condition at such a good price. Or I would just get a cheap one for the time being. Or the other option is a buggy board/ x rider which is like a seat? Or you could baby wear and see you get on xx

We went for the britax b dual tandem. Its great as bottom seat is big enough for my now 3 year old to still fit in if she gets tired. The bottom seat can be taken off easily though so it switches to a single very easy. Its only just slightly wider than a normal single pushchair. We tried the icandy before DD2 was born (so DD1 was only just coming up on 2) and there wasnt really much growing room for her then tbh xx

As she'll be over 3 you may struggle to find a double that she'd fit comfortably in unless she's quite small for her age. My gap was 2y9m and we didn't have a double, never regretted not getting one either. Dd1 used a buggy board for a bit but now at 3.5 she just walks everywhere.

We have an Icandy Apple
2 Pear which was £150 off eBay. It has been brilliant so far and even though DS is quite a big 2 year old when we have needed to use the seat he still does just about fit in it. However he walks most of the time and it is very cumbersome with both seats on it and only the baby in it. I would think about baby wearing or a buggy board on a single if I was you. I could nearly get away with that with our two but he is just a little bit too small to be walking for long distances or if we are in a busy shopping area etc. These pushchairs are fab but like a pp has said they can be pricey and it is working out how much you will be using it for. DD is a big girl so will upgrade her to the seat soon or think about getting something like the Phil and Teds I think 😊

Babyjogger city select have good sized seats abd loads of variations of seats/ carrycots. I also got the glider board which now he's nearly three we use more. Still use the second seat for long days out.

Depends on your budget really as to if you get one. I could get by without a double (I do baby wear too) but there are somedays it's a lifesaver.

Hey I've got a peach 3,I got it for the same reason as you and I needn't of in hindsight, the older child using it was out of it by 22 months x

Ive got an 18 month age gap with me two and we bought an oyster max 2 tandem. It's brilliant, more space in the seats than the icandy has. Very easy to push with both kiddies in it. Only the width of a normal pushchair and quite a good sized basket underneath. There is an option of adding a buggy board onto it and removing 2nd seat when my son doesn't need to sit down any more. 😬x

I've got the joovy caboose too ultralight and absolutely love it. So does my husband who is critical of what he calls 'badly engineered prams'. It's v light, has a universal car seat adapter so an infant seat can be used and the back seat comes off to create a sit n stand with a brill bench and platform for when the bigger child grows out of the seat.

Hey thanks for the input ladies, I think were going to go with the oyster as I love the pram and get the buggy board to go with it, I seen q woman with one and it all fitted together quite nicely :) I've seen some buggy boards where it sticks out further than the handles and the person pushing looked quite uncomfortable but with the oyster the board was inbetween the carrycot and the handles so there was plenty space x
