Sleeping on left side?

I tried again last night to stay on the left side and constantly woke myself up by turning over (which is no easy task anymore now I'm a whale haha) resulting in hardly any sleep argh! I'm seeing my MW tomorrow so will ask her about it and also thanks for the pillow suggestion I will def try that!!

I sleep any which way. The reason for side sleeping is because a major vessel to your heart can be weighted down by baby causing low blood pressure and light headedness, however it can't be blocked completely... And your body will wake you to shift position if it does become a problem.
The left side sleeping in particular is an optimal position for oxygen flow, vitals etc through the cord to bub.
Make sure you you have a good pillow for your head at the correct height for spine alignment saving sore backs. And a thin pillow under your stomach so it doesn't always pull down.

I keep waking up on my back and the pressure when I move to my left side is so painful. No matter what I do I just wake on my back. :(

For anyone interested this helps me tremendously! I was originally a stomach sleeper too so I feel your pain! :haha:

Odd enough while in bed I feel sore in my lady parts, like someone kicked me there? I am assuming it is blood flow and baby but I end up going to lay in the recliner at times b/c of it!

I put the U at my feet so I can use my own pillow. It helps the hips if you have issues with that but further along you go, the numbing will happen. It is just starting to become an issue for me at night again in this pregnancy.

I was going to get this but couldn't handle spending that much on a pillow! Even though my husband has told me repeatedly to go ahead.

I also keep ending up on my back. I'm not too worried about it though, I feel fine and my baby is constantly wiggling about in there. I really wish I could sleep on my stomach though! If they made a pillow that allowed me to comfortably sleep on my stomach I'd pay $100 or more!

I'm usually a back or lefty sleeper. Sleeping on my right side just hasn't been very comfortable for me ever, so I try to be comfy and sleep on my left side. I know it's recommended to sleep on the left side for better blood flow (and I've heard it's better for muscle function?), but sometimes I just gotta be on my back :)

It's worth every penny. Lol I used it for all my pregnancies and ankle surgery. I am going to try to space bag it for the next time I'm pregnant as well!!
