Have I missed somthing obvious with the feeding guidlines on the SMA tins?
Its skips from 2-4 weeks to 2 months but the amount is barely any different, I would have thought a 2 month would have had a fair bit more then a 2 week old.

How much do others feed a 1 month old? I thought I had it sussed but turned out I missread the tin.
Brian has 6 lots of 5oz (5 lots if he has slept most of the day)through out the day and goes from 10/11pm till 6/7am at night without waking for a feed (his last feed is hungry baby).

He has been known to guzzle down a 7oz bottle when in a real cranky mood but am I feeding him too much? I know they are only guidlines but is this about normal for a 1 month old?
He doesnt throw up any food so thats a good sign.

The "guides" on the side of the tin are just that - guides. They tend to be slightly better if you go by baby's weight, rather than age. My LO was in the ballpark with what they suggested if I went by her weight, but going by her age they were totally wrong

It sounds like your LO is doing just fine :)

I agree with Eala, it's just a guide. Joe seemed to take alot more than it was recommended on the cow & gate box til he was about 4 months.

Sounds like you are doing great hun x

Connor was born the day after Brian, and takes 5oz every 3-4 hours. He has a 6oz bottle before bed, and sleeps about 6-7 hours.

kacey is 5 weeks old. She has 4-5oz every 3-4 hours normally closer to 3 hours. last 2 nioghts she has slept for 6 hours straight. would sya she has about 25-30oz a day which is about what your lo has. so would say normal. If you over feed your Lo they would be sick. Kacey did that once and she projected. she not done it again lol

Thank you, it does sound like hes on about adverage amount by what all your LO are having .
Hes only ever bought his milk back up twice once when he had gotten himself a bit too worked up crying with colic and the second time I think id just jiggled him a bit too much when winding him :)
I suppose as long as his gaining weight and not throwing everything up I must be doing somthing right.

i have never even read the amounts on the side pmsl lana was on 4 oz bottles by 1 month
