This is my second pregnancy - I am 19+2 and honestly my bump is getting smaller. I know it can change depending on babies position/morning and evening and how much you eat. But I was so obviously pregnant at this point with my first. Do you think having an anterior placenta makes a difference on bump size? It doesn't help that I started feeling movememts the other day and actually felt a kick on the outside but now the last 2 days I've felt nothing not even a flutter. Im just thinking the worst I think, and I'm trying all the tricks to try and get baby moving!

I was much bigger with both my anterior placentas but I know what you mean about the kicks. I can go a few days without feeling anything and sometimes baby won't stop. I was much smaller in my first pregnancy all around (didn't show until 6 1/2 months) but started off weighing less so I think that's why I showed sooner with my 2 anteriors. My doctor suggested they would monitor me more for my own comfort because of the anterior placenta so you could always ask for reassurance if you aren't feeling confident.

I had anterior with both by first two. My bump was huge from the off with second (who turned out to be a 10 lb baby) and with this one I have posterior placenta and huge bump (scared now for giving birth!) However with both anterior placenta I was late to feel kicks and in even then it was sporadic. In truth until you get to about 25 weeks you can't rely on daily kick counting as baby still very small with lots of room and cushioning :hugs:

I have never heard of a connection between bump size and anterior placenta. I happen to have a smaller bump and an anterior placenta. Depending on what I wear some people still say they had no idea I was pregnant and that's at 30 weeks.

As long as your bump is growing each week I would chalk it up to healthy diet.

Placenta position doesn't make any difference. Baby's position might.

I'm on my second anterior pregnancy and my bump is huge at 21 weeks and was massive by 42 last time. I carry high and big!
