Sneaking back in...

Belle that's great news!! I feel so relieved for you! So glad your tubes are clear (or they are now anyway if they weren't before!)

I wouldn't worry too much about your follicle count. I had 15 follicles on CD6 and the doc said it was at the low end of the normal range but still ok. Antral follicle count has more implications for IVF (where you need to mature many eggs in one cycle) than it does for natural conception when you just need one!

I have a good feeling that your BFP is right around the corner!

Well all my bloodwork came back and the RE said everything looked normal. My amh was over 4, but when I asked her about progesterone she said that it looked like I did O but it was only at 3? She said they prefer to see it between 5-10. I thought that low meant that a pregnancy was completely not possible. These results are off my 7dpo bloods. How can everything look ok then? I'm feeling stressed and confused.

Good luck today Wishn!! Its going to go wonderfully!

Pleasance are you seeing an RE or an ob-gyn? maybe they could give you prometrium after you O to help that progesterone level?

I found out yesterday my right ovary is my dominant ovary (it had 3 more follicles than my left), but I also felt more pain with the HSG of my right tube (felt increase of pressure and a pinch and releasing feeling, after it released the fluid flowed through to show it was open. That didn't happen with the left, I felt no pain at all with the left). That makes me wonder if the right was partially blocked or if there was debris or something that got cleared. If thats the case then we're open for business and I should see improved rates over the next 3 cycles. I'm just grasping at straws here, but I really want to believe it will happen for us soon!

Belle, I'm so glad your HSG went well and you're clear! Wooohooo! :)

Thanks 2much! I'm very happy to have a positive result even if it does mean we are unexplained

Good news Belle! Hopefully you just needed that cleaning out and you're good to go now!

Pleasance, a 3 seems low to me...I think I was a 9 and my dr wanted me at 20...though maybe a different unit of measure?? I have no idea what the 9 or 20 is, 9 mg, 9 mEq/L, etc. Being on progesterone wouldn't hurt things, can they give you some for post O even if they aren't concerned?

I looked it up, progesterone is measured in ng/mL

"A progesterone test is done to confirm ovulation. When a follicle releases its egg, it becomes what is called a corpus luteum and produces progesterone. A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy. Some say the test may be more accurate if done first thing in the morning after fasting."

Surgery was a success! The polyp is out! I'm home and I feel just fine...hardly cramping and only a little bleeding, which could just be a continuation of AF. The only annoying thing is that the post-op instructions say 2-4 weeks no intercourse, unless the doctor said it was ok to start sooner. The doctor didn't say anything and I didn't think to ask. I'm going to have to call and ask, since my post-op isn't for two weeks and if we wait that long we will completely miss our chance to try this cycle.

Glad to hear it went well Wishin! Did they do a hysteroscopy to remove the polyp? Did they say why the restriction? I had the hysteroscopy for the polyp and then the laparoscopy too and had no restrictions. I didn't feel up for it for a few days, but the doctor specifically said no restrictions.

That would be such a bummer to miss out on this cycle (even though chances probably aren't great since the lining is healing).

Thanks MK! Yes it was all hysteroscopic. They just gave me the generic hysteroscopy pamphlet which says 2-4 weeks, no special instructions for me. The doctor did say at one of my previous appointments that we could start trying again 'right away', but he wasn't specific. I'm thinking that once I stop bleeding it should be ok. I may call anyway just to be sure. How long did you bleed for afterwards?

Wishn so glad to hear that it went well! Did you get to see it!? AHH I hope that you don't have to miss out on this cycle though!!

Thanks Belle! I asked but I didn't get to see the polyp since I was out cold and they sent it to pathology right away before I was awake. The resident said it would just look like a red shiny blob. The pathology report will have a very detailed description of it I guess. Of course I can see other polyps on google images but it's not quite the same as seeing your own! I'm such a nerd.

I am determined not to miss this cycle...hoping the stress of all this makes me O a bit later so we can try after a full week of recovery.

How long did you bleed for afterwards?

Not even that full day after surgery, just some spotting the first couple hours, but I think that was unusual, or he just cleaned everything up so well there wasn't any blood left.

The nurse called from the hospital today to check on how i'm doing (great!). I asked her how long we should wait and she said two weeks! Darn...that would be cd19 and probably too late. I still might call the doc to see if we can start sooner. If I get a positive opk before the two week mark I may have to jump DH!

Ahh! Wishn that would drive me nuts!!! I think I'd do it anyways LOL at least once or twice when positive OPK!

CD 8 here and started ewcm today, expecting OPK to be positive in 2-3 days. Hoping this will be our lucky cycle after that HSG cleaned me all out! What amazed me about it was how long the tubes actually are! I have a newfound appreciation for the trip those poor swimmers have to make!

I know...two weeks is too long! Just have to convince DH to do it sooner...he likes to play it safe.

Yay for fertile cm...I hope your squeaky clean tubes do the trick this month!!!

Ah awesome. I never get EWCM so I'm kind of jealous you have a better clue with that, lol.

Do you use preseed then 2much?

I added EPO (2000 mg daily after AF finishes until ovulation) to my supplements even though I get ewcm and found that it pretty much doubled the amount that I was getting.

After a year of status quo lots of big changes are coming up.

Things are not 100% solidified yet, but DH and I will likely be moving to a house! (we currently live in an apartment) and will be getting a puppy! She will be a big girl (shepherd-pit cross). We also will be going to Boston for a week just prior to our moving date! LOL, so should be a hectic couple weeks coming up!

That's exciting news Belle! Puppies are so much fun and Boston is a great city! It's so good to have things to look forward to while ttc...a good distraction for sure.

I had to cancel my work trip to Texas because of the surgery so now we're hoping to go to California to visit DH's sister in November. It's a good time to get away...November here is so grey and dreary after the leaves have fallen off the trees but before there's snow on the ground.
