My mat leave starts next week and I know how bored I'm gonna get so I' ve planned lots of projects!

I am painting a jungle animal mural on the nursery wall, making red onion chutney and other chutneys and oils so we can give them away as Christmas presents to save money.

I'm having the girls over one evening so am going to do.some baking and then freeze extras so we can gave nice things around for when those first visitors come calling.

I've also found a local la leche group and they have some events over the next few weeks so I've booked those into the calendar so I can go and meet new mums and get some advice on breast feeding...

I also want ti make some lettering for our Lil ones room and k.ow you can buy 3d cardboard letters from hobbycraft for very little money... Then I'll cover them in bright fabric.

All sorts of things you can do to keep yourself amused on the cheap.

I also fancy starting swimming. Might see if there are any local bump swiming classes!

No limit on when u can go swim, there have been overdue ladies at the aquanatal class I go to, think u can swim for as long as u want as long as ur waters r still intact!x

Cross stitch is a really nice hobby. You can do it while having a conversation, watching a movie, whatever! I love it...I've been doing it since I was about 10, so you know it's also not so difficult to figure out.

You could also learn to knit or crochet and make your LO a blanket or something since winter is coming!

A scrapbook of your pregnancy/baby?

So many things you can do! I don't work but I'm literally never bored! LOL

I don't have time to be bored but I don't even have any down-time as I keep planning projects for myself :dohh:

At the minute I'm making curtains & cushions for the living room and 2 bedrooms, re-arranging furniture on an almost daily basis, re-painting the kitchen. I just got all of LO's old clothes down from the attic so lots of washing and ironing. Lots of nesting! When I'm not entertaining LO, I'm walking the dog every day and doing some planning for when my maternity leave finishes.

I started my mat leave today so been thinking about this. I'm not very creative bit did fancy a bit of knitting. I've done the wall decals in the nursery already but picking up some wicker baskets tomorrow and sorting out toiletries etc. Gonna join the local library and also meet some friends for lunch in the next few weeks. Im gonna purchase some dvd box sets to also keep me occupied rather than daytime tv. Gossip girl season 4 and Medium series 5 are on the list. Keep the ideas coming ladies, great thread xxx

I've crocheted two blankets. Getting more wool for my third one tomorrow!

I make soup - it's healthy and wholesome and freezable! My favourites so far are leek and potato and bacon and lentil. Mmmm!

I still need to wash and iron all the clothes. Was thinking of doing this in the next couple of weeks.

Tidying! I've tidied and organised EVERYTHING!

Shopping for the last bits and bobs.

Blimey - I feel like I've been busy but writing what I've done doesn't make it seem like I have!

when i was pregnant with my first LO I spent quite a few days making thankyou cards to give people for baby presents. that was fun to do but then i like doing crafty stuff.

Ive pretty much got lots of things to do on maternity leave lol, Need to move house, so at the moment im packing everything up, throwing out the rubbish and everything else. Then once we have moved in, get everything unpacked, paint the nursery, paint most of the house bit by bit, put all the furniture together lol.

Then of course cooking meals to freeze, baking, general cleaning and just getting ready for baby to come:)

Ive taken up jewellery making, watching videos on youtube and tv shows on create and craft, dont buy from them tho lol as they are expensive i get cheaper stuff on ebay.

Ive got 6 different note books for lists, trying to be organised for LOs arrival. I do a daily housework list, i have a bad back and spd so do things in little bursts. Ive brought a v shaped pillow and its a godsend gives the best support. Asda do them with a pillow case for £7 i think was cheaper than argos/babiesrus/mothercare.

Id love to meet up with other mums to be in my area but dont know anyone.

Great thread!! I start my mat leave next Friday, although I have to admit at the moment I'm mostly planning to sleep lots and watch DVDs! I'll probably get bored with that and hoping the nesting instinct kicks in too as there's quite a few chores I could do - defrost the freezer, clean out the kitchen cupboards etc. Swimming is a great idea too.

I've got SPD too and decided to do the same, make a list of stuff to do in the house but do it slowly so not in too much pain xxx

Ive been off work for the last 10 weeks - and I can honestly say Ive never been bored!
I did a 6 week aquanatal course, but thats finished now
I have washed, dried, ironed and put away all of baby's clothes
The nursery is finished
Im in the process of making my pregnancy scrapbook
I do the housework and cook an evening meal every day
I spend hours on BnB, chatting and learning
I have a 2 hour nap every afternoon

Lots and lots to keep me busy!! :)

I've started to sell fancy dress & lingerie on eBay. I started an online lingerie business when I was 17 and still at school, so I know all the suppliers/dropshippers. So I've just decided to do that whilst I wait, plus it's good to get a couple of extra quid in here & there! :)
