So little time..so much confusion

I've smoked cannabis. I don't intend to do anything harder because hard drugs can be dangerous and have a completely different effect to cannabis.. All the people I know that have smoked cannabis would never do anything harder. Cannabis is a chill-out drug, it's the person who's smoking it that makes the difference.... If someone can't stop smoking it for their family, then imo they sadly put a temporary good feeling before their family. Cannabis is not an addictive substance! (And people should understand this, the subtance itself is not addictive, but people feel like they don't want to cope without it..... because it makes them feel good and calm...kind of like sex)..

It's not really appropriate to keep smoking it if your pregnant GF doesn't want you to, and it's not a good thing to have around a growing child, but smoking cigarettes is actually worse. It's addictive and contains loads of crap, tar etc. Cannabis (good quality) is 'better' for your health than tobacco..

Not encouraging cannabis, just saying that people seem to make it out to be worse than it is, when in truth the more common act of placing a stick of tobbaco in your mouth is more dangerous. Also that it's not an addictive substance, so don't take that as an excuse if someone won't give it up (eg in this sort of situation).

i am not anti-drugs but i must say that in years and years of working in mental health i have never seen anyone develop a psychosis from tobacco. i have however seen many develop permanent psychosis and depressions and social anxiety due to cannabis use. i would not want ciggies or pot around my kid.. but of the two pot is worse in terms of mental health effects for SOME people.... it is not a benign drug. some can smoke it no problems.. others really cannot and can have permanent mental health problems as a result.
i am not judging, i did many drugs in my youth. but it is true...

all your cannabis stuff, thats bullcrap, right there. Cannabis IS addictive, and is MORE destructive to your health than tobacco.

Smoking of cannabis is the most harmful method of consumption, since the combination of inhalation of smoke from organic materials such as tobacco, wood, gasoline and cannabis can cause various health problems. However, recent studies have shown that using a vaporizer for cannabis consumption appears to eliminate almost all of the health problems and objections related to cannabis use.

A 2007 study by the Canadian government found cannabis smoke contained more toxic substances than tobacco smoke. The study determined that marijuana smoke contained 20 times more ammonia, and five times more hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen oxides than tobacco smoke. In spite of this, recent studies have been unable to demonstrate a direct link between lung cancer and frequent direct inhalation of marijuana smoke. While many researchers have failed to find a correlation, some researchers still conclude that marijuana smoke poses a higher risk of lung cancer than tobacco. Some studies have even shown that the non-psychoactive ingredient CBD found in marijuana may be useful in treating breast cancer.

Smoking cannabis is a potentially harmful method of consuming cannabis, yet the most practiced.Cannabis use has been assessed by several studies to be correlated with the development of anxiety, psychosis and depression,[31][32] however, no causal mechanism has been proven, and the meaning of the correlation and its direction is a subject of debate that has not been resolved in the scientific community. Some studies assess that the causality is more likely to involve a path from cannabis use to psychotic symptoms rather than a path from psychotic symptoms to cannabis use,[33] while others assess the opposite direction of the causality, or hold cannabis to only form parts of a "causal constellation", while not inflicting mental health problems that would not have occurred in the absence of the cannabis use.[34][35]

Studies have also shown links between heavy long-term use (over five joints daily over several years) and incidence of heart attacks, strokes, as well as abnormalities in the amygdala and hippocampus regions of the brain

Nope it's not addictive. It's not an addictive substance. Sorry. The effects of it can be addictive, especially if smoked in the wrong frame of mind.

How many cases of cancer have you heard from consuming cannabis? Lung disease? Blood clots?

Cannabis can be beneficial to your health (I'm talking physical here, and to some extent mental...depending on the situation)....tobacco?

And wiki is written/edited by professionals? Not people like you or I?...

TBH I'd rather be smoking a plant than a bundle of chemicals all rolled up in one nice little bit of paper. :)

Not going to get into an argument, I'm using my resources, you're using yours. Not the first time research contradicts on a subject..
