Well I had a few problems a couple of weeks ago with the girl who was doing my hair and make up but that's sorted now cos I got a new girl who is lovely and did my trial really nice. But now!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!! :growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad: We have to go in our venue next week to go over things and to make our food choices etc and I've just found out that they have changed the caterer's from when we booked and this new caterer's is totally different food and a lot more expensive. It's going to add about £350 - £400 to our bill!!!!!!! I'm so angry!!! I'm going to try and get some money knocked off although I don't think they'll do this cos they're outside caterer's so I'm going to demand they throw something in for free, like a free cocktail for everyone at the drinks reception or that they pay for the balloon decorations (we're using the same company that they do for corporate events). And if they won't do anything i'm going to go the local paper. I'm going to have to spend extra money now that I haven't got (especially cos OH is out of work atm and on Jobseekers, although he has an interview on monday so fingers crossed :thumbup:). Added to that I don't like the look of the new menu anyway - if the menu had been that when we booked I would have thought twice about booking anyway!!!

Have you signed contracts yet hun? If you have, they will be hard pushed to get another penny from you :hugs:

Yeah we signed contracts like nearly a year ago but when i've looked at it there isn't any mention about changes to the catering or anything like that. It just says that they sill send out the final invoice two weeks after the wedding. i'd been really chilled out about the whole wedding thing until all this! x
 
I would speak to the venue asap. Have a read of your contract - does it say anywhere that the price per person is subject to change? If so, unfortunately there isnt much you can do. If not, then you can push them to offer you the new catering at the original price, or as you say, cover another expense to make up the defecit. Unfortunately you are a bit stuck with regards to changing your venue etc as you are so close to your wedding x
 
There's no mention of anything like that in the contract. I'm so fed up, feel like I've been a bit cheated :-( xx

That's so bad of them surely you signed the contract to the prices and of before if they've changed the food you shouldn't have to pay more that's so unfair, definitely push for freebies say to them that your not a rowdy bunch but got a few fair drinkers so their going to make a killing on the bar anyway so least they can do is.... etc.
I'm sorry this is not what you need glad the make up is sorted though that's one of the most important things you feeling and looking good on YOUR wedding day.
If it doesn't say the price per person is subject to change definitely get them to pay the difference. Don't stress!! I know it's much easier said than done but try not to get too worked up about it don't let them ruin your day. :hug:
 
They are going to do last years food for us at last years prices so all sorted!!!!!!!!!! x
