Lucas is really into astronomy and meteorology at the moment. My sisters are amateur astronomers so he's done stargazing with them and is totally fascinated (they're getting him a miniature Dobsonian telescope for Christmas, he's going to go nuts!). He loves watching Brian Cox with them but obviously most of it goes over his head.
I don't know of any astronomy related kids TV shows but if anyone has an idea of a DVD I could get for his stocking, I'll love your forever! Or even an educational game for the PS3, just something to stir his interest until he's old enough to learn it at school. He asks me to explain space to him all the time and there's only so much I know
