Hey Faye

How many SA's has your DH had?
Did the GP say if there was room for possible improvement?

Don't rule out using his :spermy: just yet as if they can find 1 for IVF then they will use it hun! :hugs:

Is there anything he can do to help his sperm count? Diet, exercise? Sorry if that is a silly question...

thanks girls for answering he has only had one sperm test done but and the gp is refering us to a fertility doctor but i have read thay dont really help you on the nhs if your over 35 im 38 and his 45 my biological clock is ticking to i surrpose im begining to panick and thinking of other options my dh is very healthy dont smoke or drink and has allways taken vvitamins, i think its his job over the years that has done somthing to his sperm he is a chef and has allways been a cyclist so not much luck going for us huh:hug:

Oh sorry hun - they do say long distance cycling isn't great and neither is heat.

What about getting him to take Maca? that is meant to improve count/motility/morphology? Also 1000mg of vit c and zinc are good for :spermy: All clinics will recommend 2 tests to get an accurate account and then 2 tests after the changes have been made 6 weeks later.

You might be surprised what the FS can offer you chick. There might be other options and with ICSI if they can find 1 :spermy: they can do the necessary.

google maca and think bout that for 3mth..then retest..find aflight83 on ere n just ask her!!! xxx

thanks for the help we are going to get him some maca i hav e read thats good stuff ,when the gp got his results he said every think was good ecept 99% abnormal sperm but all the other reading was high i dont no wha to think anymore:hug: i think we will go private for ivf are you

Also, they're a bit expensive but the Zita West male fertility supplements are really good - it's a multi vit and includes L-Arginine, L-Carnitine, Lysine, Zinc, Selenium which are all supposed to be good for sperm. It also includes a few other vits. As well as all this, my OH takes Tribulus Terrestris which is supposed to help and he takes a vitamin B-Complex and Vitamin C - oh and Flaxseed Oil too.

All of these are supposed to help and would be worth a try.

My OH had a borderline sperm count with slightly low motility and is being re-tested next week so I'll let you know if there's been any improvement.

Good luck
xxx

One thing i would say hun is get him on the pills now as it takes 3 months to see a realistic change so by the time you get your appt at the FS, things could definitely be looking up! :hugs:

Hi Faye, I would have the DH stop cycling for 3 months and redo test. But if you feel you can't wait, see a specialist to see what they can do for you both.

I think you should get your DH to try maca. If that doesn't work ICSI probably will. I'm not sure about the age restrictions - something tells me that the local trusts make up their own rules anyway.

thanks girls you have all been so helpfull and my dh has read the post and feel a bit more postive now bless

you always have to make a second test to be sure of the result. But you have to analys all the parameter of the diag. You could find good informations à this link :
