Starting clomid for baby #2... buddies?

Hi! I am starting clomid tomorrow for baby #2. Baby #1 was also a clomid baby. We were hoping after the first, we would be able to conceive naturally but PCOS has reared its ugly head and we have had no success. Was hoping others taking clomid would join me on this journey! I will be taking 50mg days 5-9 to start. baby dust to all!

I'm currently TTC #1, and just reached the one year mark. In January I was diagnosed with PCOS and in April we started our first Clomid cycle 50mg CD2-6. Didn't ovulate so in May we did 100mg CD2-6. My body still didn't respond at all (although I had enough bloomin' side effects!). Currently waiting until July 3rd when we go back to the fertility doctor to see what he wants me to do now. I also don't get AF without Norethisterone, so have to take that every time too.

How long did it take you to conceive #1?

Hi! I'm sorry you too have been diagnosed with PCOS, its no fun! I hope the fertility specialist can get you to ovulate with either a higher dose or another drug!

It took us about a year to conceive #1 once we started getting help from a fertility specialist. I started with metformin to balance my hormones and then added in clomid about 6 months later. I luckily ovulated on the lowest dose and the third month I conceived. Don't give up, its such a frustrating journey lots of baby dust!

Hi I'm on 100mg. I didn't ovulate the first month but was only on 50mg. Last month I ovulated and this month I've been told il ovulate. I've been for my 2nd tracker scan today and got 3 follicles. One at 17mm and two at 13mm and I'm predicted to ovulate at the weekend some time. All this TTC lark is so stressful!

I'm only on CD12 today so it's a while before I can poas. What CD are you both on?

glad the 100mg has worked to get you to ovulate! I did the tracker scans last time and ended up finding out I was actually ovulating a couple days later than they were predicting. guess my eggs were comfy! haha

I am on CD 5 and starting 50mg tonight CD5-9. Excited and nervous!

Thanks for your positivity, I'm finding the whole thing extremely frustrating and I kind of dread knowing that I still might have months more of this.

I don't have a clue what day I ovulated last month. I have decided to do ovulation tests this month but I've never done them before. The nurse today told me to throw them away because they aren't worth doing and to just dtd every other day for the next week.

Aww fingers crossed the Clomid works for you! Has your consultant said how long you can take it for? I've been told I can only have 6 months on it so if this cycle fails I'll have 3 more

BellaBoo- ovulation tests can not be clear, especially for women with PCOS but worth a shot!6 months seems to be the standard for how long you can take it but I have heard of other women being able to do 6 months of ferma after (similar results).

How are you guys feeling? What CD is everyone on?

AFM: Today is CD9, last day of clomid YAY! the side effects have been pretty rough. The hot flashes have been intense. This is the first month I have not gained weight on it (actually lost!) but I think that is mostly just because I upped my Metformin to 1500mg from 1000mg.

I'm on CD16 today and pretty sure I'm ovulating as I've been getting pretty bad cramps for the past couple of hours. I've been out all day though so not had chance to do an OPK. Dtd last night and held my legs in the air for a good 20 mins so fingers crossed that has done the trick lol!

How are you feeling?

I've lost some weight this cycle too but it's probably because I'm eating less because of the heat x

Clapper I feel your pain, I hated those hot flashes. Where in the world are you? We're in the middle of a pretty intense heatwave at the moment so I'm glad I'm not currently taking Clomid. Do you get low mood on them? Last cycle, I was horrendous, just felt so, so low. And I'm usually a very happy, laughy person.

AFM, CD 44. Prettt convinced I didn't ovulate. Counting down the days until I go back to the fertility doctor...

I'm in the UK and we are in the middle of a heat wave too. I'm fair skinned so not very good in heat

I felt really low on Clomid this time round. I even felt suicidal which was terryfying! Thankfully my low mood only lasted a couple of days.

When are you back at the fertility doctor Steph?

I don't have to go back for at least three months now. I've just been told to do 3 more cycles of Clomid then not sure what happens. I can go for tracker scans if I want to but the nurse said I don't have to because they have confirmed Clomid is making me O.

Oh Bella, you poor thing, that must have been terrible. I didn't get that bad thankfully but am dreading having to take it again if that's what he thinks I should do. Especially since he would probably up it to 150mg. I go back on 3rd July.

I'm no OPK expert but I'd say that it's almost as dark as the control so if it's got darker since I reckon you're well in there- you best starting getting down to it!

It hit 34 down here today, no fun when you're not by a pool with an ice cream is it?

We've only been on Clomid twice so far (but my word it feels like longer). Blood tests were shocking both times, not even close to O'ing. Which I think is why he's said not to take any more until we've seen him. Not sure what in store next, could be 150mg or I guess it could be something different altogether.

Flippin eck 34 degrees! It's been hot here too but not sure of the temperature.

My first dose of 50mg Clomid gave me shocking blood test results. Maybe if you go up to 150mg it will work. Fingers crossed for you it's all so stressful isn't it x
