Starting Second round of clomid today, I need a buddy

Absolutely, its amazing what a woman will put herself through to get what she wants.

I have my specialist appt in 2days so hopefully he will be able to give me some information, although he was very vague last time I asked him about symptoms he just told me not to worry too much about them, I was very unprepared for the affects of clomid

So was I.....my doctor didnt talk to me much about the SE. But i also didnt really ask. When she first mentioned us trying clomid. I just jumped right on the boat bc i wanted to do whatever was needed to get pregnant. I was not even thinking about what SE it could have until i went home and googled the hell of out clomid.

Hi stevie,
Im in my first round of clomid 50mg cd5-9. Im on day 11 now and will be going for my u/s to check on my follicles on Thursday. So anxious! I have been diagnosed with Pcos and although i have regular cycles, i only have one functioning tube. So ovualtion is tricky. I also have scar tissue from 2 surgeries. What a mess! My dh recently has a SA resulting in high counts but low morph...we have quite the journey ahead of us. But i try to stay positive and hope for the best :winkwink:

I am mad googler too, sometimes I have to stop myself though bc theres so much conflicting information and its hard not to focus on all the negatives or to get over excited about the positives, finding this site was probably the best thing for me as everyone here has been through or is going through what I currently am so the information and advice is true and very helpful. I was very eager to start clomid, like you said you do whatever you possibly can, we are scheduled to start a long cycle of ivf in May next year but fxd we wont need it :D

Hi Rissaroo, Good luck with the follies check on thursday. I hope things go well. I ovulate on day 17 on clomid. So dont freak if your follies are still growing. Mine were at 15 and 16 when i did mine. Doctor said i'm going to ovulate late this month which i O'd today CD17 and i did the same last cycle. Did anyone advise you to the SE you can have after O? I wasnt and was blind sighted by them when i got them.

I agree. this website has been a god send for me. and its all up to date stuff....most of the blogs or threads i find online are so old when it comes to what is happening to me at that moment.

Thank you.
No i was just advised of them during the doses and boy were they right. i was miserable really until today. The first 2 days i was exhausted and sweating like crazy, ew! Then the next 2 i had bad headaches. Yesterday i started cramping and had like a heartburn type feeling all night. Today I'm cramping but on the opposite side. Im trying to avoid Google right now because i just make myself paranoid every time LOL. So i figured i better join and keep myself positive and busy!

Yep that all happened to me too while i actually take the pill. I'm a lucky one that gets pretty much every SE under the sun from clomid. I had the heartburn feeling to but after O. I was pretty convienced i was pregnant bc of that. All other SE i had could have either been clomid or AF related i read but i read nothing about heartburn but heartburn is a SE from pregnancy. I mean i obviously wasnt pregnant but man cant hat clomid play games with you. Just try not to SS to much. That is my goal this cycle during my TWW. Dont avoid google completely. It is good to be informed about what you are putting into your body but i do understand where you coming from.

Just phoned my doctor for prog results, at 101 its not as high as last month but still a very good number so im happy with that.

Welcome Rissaroo, i wish you the best of luck on thursday and hope your SE's arent too bad, they will all be worth it in the end. I love how positive you are, its a hard thing to keep up when your going through such a big emotional battle :hugs:

Thank you ladies!
Naturally, i have good and bad days. Ive been fairly down the last month or so. Every AF seems like a failure. But i think Clomid has been a ray of hope for me this month. So ive tried to keep focused and wait patiently for thursday. Even seems to make BDing more exciting again as we have had a little extra help added.

We all have our down times, its normal considering the circumstances... keep trying is all we can do. I have read many good things about clomid (other than the SE's) and depending on your own personal reason for not being able to conceive the success rates look pretty good. It seems to be working for me in the ovulation department so am just keeping my hopes high for a :bfp: in the coming months. I hope it works great for you and anything that makes BDing more exciting is a bonus :winkwink:

I agree with Nikki. I def. have my bad days, where all i want is a hot bath, a good cry and my bed. the clomid makes me kinda pathetic lol Just keep in mind. Clomid is not a magic pill. So dont get to disappointed when if it doesnt work the first time. I have seen alot where women conceive on there 2nd time having a clomid induced ovulation. I dont know if it that our bodies need a cycle to get things going or what.

Is there room for me? I actually came over to the LTTC to start a thread for me and about 3 of my journal friends. We have been in this a while and now every one else we know is talking about being pregnant and we don't fit in.

I have secondary infertility. Been TTC 19 months this month. No issues that were found. I have had 3 IUI's one chemical and the last two negatives.
This is my second month clomid in a row this go around.

So that's me.

Hi Here we r. Ofcourse there is room. What days are you taking the clomid?

Well today was the day! The u/s showed 2 follies in my left ovary at about 1.8cm(18mm) which is so exciting. We were hoping for left activity as my right tube cant function. The big O should be any day now as i'm at cd13. Just the thought that there has been some sign of improvement is more than enough right now. Gave me that extra boost i needed to not give up. I go back monday for a follow up.
Hope all is well with you ladies...any news?

Stevi my days are CD 3-7. Today is 7 so the last one :yippee: These things had me so irritated. I got hot flashes on the 50mg than I did this time on the 100mg. Isn't that strange?

I start estrogen tomorrow. It didn't do me too bad last month. Hopefully it continues that way. What about you?

Hello ladies :winkwink:
Been pretty quiet in here! How is everyone?
Well it has def been something else around here! Let me say Stevi u were right! clomid kicked my booty! sat cd(15) was the first day without a headache and today cd17 was the first day without cramps and they stopped suddenly so im thinking i possibly Od today. When i went in for my u/s on cd13 i had 2 follies at about 17.5mm, so dr said i should O in the next day or so. I was SO sick cd16 just felt awful all over so idk what that was about? Saw the dr today for a followup and direction for whats next and she pretty much just seemed content with the results. Says she feels confident i Od given the follicle size and told us to BD today and 2mrw to wrap up the protocol and then onto the tww. Was i supposed to have the cd21 bw even tho i have reg u/s? Thats been bothering me since i left. Like how do we KNOW i Od. And she wants to keep me on 50mg for next cycle since she feels sure it worked. But again how do we know?! I didnt use opks but kinda wish i would have now. She said once they are that big they generally burst....ok? Sooo...onto the tww now i suppose... Praying for that :bfp:!

Rissa- Yeah for it working and Sorry about the SE's but my doctor says they are a good thing. Shows that it is working. Good luck with the rest of the cycle. I'm in my TWW too. CD22

TWW huh? Can't wait until I'm back in it. But then it reminds me of the depression that comes shortly afterwards. Yep..I'm pathetic

I was saying the 50mg of clomid gave me hotflashes and not the 100mg. I'm such a lie. It hit me after I said it. I'm still having them. Is that even possible? I don't know if its the estrogen though. I don't think I read that estrogen can do it. Anyways...these pills are wrecking havoc on me. LOL

Here we r- Yes it is possible. Everywhere i read says that you will stop having SE's once you are done taking the last pill.....LIE!!!! and even my doctor confirmed that you feel the clomid your entier cycle. It is not fun. I hope they stop soon.
