Megan has 4 bottles - 7oz! Thats what she wants - use to be 5!

She was a good sleeper at night but her naps in the day can be very disturbed with Caitlin so makes sense - Caitlins forever screaming & going over trying to rock her which wakes her IF shes down stairs & we didn't put Megan to bed every single nap however I did try all naps upstairs apart from last one last night.

Megan is much different from Caitlin ...well was. She liked her bottles which was 5 and drank her milk fine didn't sick up much (Caitlin had reflux quite badly) but she has drooled clear stuff since day one & its not teeth - Megan will soak a bib with drool in 30 minutes its actually gross lol but she starting dropping the 4th bottle a wheil back so ...

So heres how our feeds worked most recently!
Morning bottle 8-10am
Afternoon bottles 1-2pm
Evening bottle 6-7pm

So basically around every 4 hours and that worked round her having awake time after her bottle then waking up from a nap.

Heres the problem Megan detected 'peace time' and napped in her bouncer after 3rd bottle and would nap ages - Not liking the 'wake them up' way we'd leave her and as SC works American hours sometimes that was often not too bad so now your talking she'd wake any time from 1am-3am then go to bed and wake at time mentioned above!

Heres the problem!

She woke for it but wouldn't take it ...its a struggle now (hit and miss) if she will have a 4th bottle  at any time!

Weekend gone she was sicking up a fair bit and noticed this last couple of weeks it was getting more and more and she struggled on 3rd AND 4th bottle with me which was difficult because she woke for it wanted it but would not take it ...just cried :( Difficult for Mummy knowing that and knowing she needs it.

Thursday I managed a dream feed first ever time (fell sleep in my arms) then Friday she had 3 bottles I had NO choice she would not take the 4th not even a dream I had to put her to bed (she'd crashed out) 2 bottles later trying at 3am ish - her last bottle was around 6.30pm that day ish and she slept until 10am happily which shocked me.

Last night - wouldn't take a 4th bottle and fell asleep - she had a bottle at 8am!

...........

:help:

Sorry this is long theres no point asking for other peoples thoughts/advice/simular problems without explaining!

3 bottles can't be enough! Why is she struggling yet shows she wants it. Reduce bottles from 7oz ....???

Im at a loss atm I can't force feed her although have tried not giving up due to knowing she needs more than 3 but then it leaves me feeling bad and stressed.

x

So she's having the first and last pretty spaced out but the middle two seem really cose together?

3 bottles a day doesnt sound enough but she might not be a big milk drinker, whats her weight gain like?

No the times I mentioned are between times based on the time she wakes, gets first bottles & when she wakes from nap ...she has them around every 4 hours apart from after the 3rd she seems to go heavy asleep and doesn't wake (shes in the livingroom not bed)! Its then we have a problem ...wake her she won't have it let her wake from a long nap she won't have it (use to)!

Weight gain - shes a fatty lol shes in most of her 6-9 clothes already! Nothing like Caitlin on that score either.

Oh she use to have 5 btw she dropped that not us ...then it was a later bottle! Like it use to be about 10pm then say around 2/3am! She started long napping through a 10pm (rough time) one and would have one early hours of morning - Make sense?

But now shes getting the bottles (always did anyway) when she wants them but won't take a 4th! Its like shes dropped a 4th now down to 3????

Hmmmm i agree that 3 bottles doesnt sound enough....

Presuming you feed her on demand?
Have your tried feeding at set times, whether she askes for it or not? We do this with Alex now, the feeds are every 3.5-4 hours except overnight. That feed overnight is the only one we leave for him to tell us when he wants it.

Alex sleeps alot still and would basically sleep through the feeds if we let him so we have to wake him up to keep with the routine.
