Stock cube

If I've made a casserole with a normal stock cube I can't purée it for a little one can I?

No, apparently you can't use stock for babies. Most stocks contain MSG and high levels of salt (even low-salt versions!) x

You can get baby stock cubes for next time hun, they do them in tesco or boots

Thank you, I have bought chicken ones from boots. Just used an oxo in this casserole (beef) so wanted to check

The kallo low salt stock cubes are very, very low in salt, and are MSG free, each cube only contains 0.002g of salt, the heinz 'baby' stock cubes are actually higher in salt than those (0.4g of salt each cube) but still pretty low level compared to normal stock cubes. xx

^They have the figures on the pack per 100g (salt reading is still extremely low) but the entire pack is only 60g and I did some maths and figured out per stock cube that is the level. I haven't tried the other flavours of the kallo cubes but the vegetable ones are lovely xx

I have used a beef stock cube in a dinner before and gave my LO some it was only once though as i wasnt too sure at the time he was about 7 months at the time but he was fine from it. I wouldnt advice it to be used all the time die to the salt levels but if it was a one off i dont know if it can do much harm? But that would be your choice Ive now bought the baby stock cubes though x
