I'm so sick of people telling me 'Don't worry yourself' :growlmad: I have a growth scan today as LO is measuring small and all I have done since Wednesday (when I found out) is think about it and worry. I get's more annoying when it comes from people who already have children and know that all you do from conception is worry about your LO. I just feel like shouting at them 'OF COURSE I'M GOING TO BLOODY WORRY, IT'S MY LITTLE GIRL!!!!' makes it worse that I have had a feeling something was going to go wrong from the moment I found out I was pregnant

Rant over

oh dear :hugs: i hope all goes well hun. is it your fundal height which is measuring small? xx

Hiya!

I was the same - measured small all the way through - not enough though for anything to be done - til I got to 36wks when they said I was measuring really small. I did have the neatest bump I have ever saw and folk couldnt believe I was 36wks!!

I was sent for a scan at 36/37wks and all measured fine - ok, was told this is not a huge baby- I was happy with that!

I tried not to worry - I just thought oh good I get to see my LO again on the scan!

You have not long to go at all, so just try look forward to meeting your LO.

My Anna was born at 39wks by c-section (she was breech!) and 6 lb 14oz - so not that small really!

Dont worry - oops! Let us know how it goes:flower:

:hugs: It is natural to worry and your right so rant away huni! Have you finished on Mat Leave yet. The reason I ask is my friend was like you and her growth scan and bump were measuring small, she went off on Mat Leave and was resting instead of pushing herself and her LO "caught up" he was still small but considering my friend is tiny he is perfect sized for her.

i had a growth scan yesterday and im worrying about my little girl too... head and thigh bone measures on schedule but her tummy is a week bigger.... have to go back in 4 weeks for another scan. It's hard not to worry. I've worried from the day I found out I was pregnant because I had a miscarriage previously. I pray that everything will be okay in the end and I can have a natural birth.

^^ Good luck hun xx

Yeah it was, it has only increased 1cm in 2weeks. I think the worry is coming from the fact that DS was 8lb8 at birth, I haven't done anything different with this pregnancy. I am about half the size I was with DS aswell

I'm a SAHM so don't get mat leave (well maybe 2weeks when DH get his paternity leave)

i think its just people they say silly things when they dont know what else to day, dont worry about it ;-)

I know what you mean, it's like when you get told something really awful and say 'You're joking' ummm why would they joke about something so awful?

or when someone dies they say im sorry, its like sorry for what? you didnt kill them x

Growth scans aren't always accurate, in fact, I am sure a lot of women on here will tell you that theirs was completely off, like mine!
With my second baby, I was scanned weekly for the last few weeks and the doctors warned me my baby would be tiny, around 3lbs and may have to go in an incubator and stuff, I was TERRIFIED, even a couple of days before she was born, they were saying she would be 3.5lbs, guess what... she was 6.9lbs and we went home after 6 hours!

I understand your frustration with people telling you not to worry, but it really is good advice. Stress isn't good for your baby, and chances are your docs are playing it safe and checking the growth just in case, but honestly, it is more than likely your LO will measure up just fine!

Hope it goes well hun and your lil girl is growing just fine!

I hate those comments too like people say to me don't worry your baby will arrive safe and well and I think how the hell do you know that no one does!!! They all thought that Jessica was going to be a keeper after my 2 losses and that ended badly whos to say it won't this time either.

Anyways sorry for ranting on your thread hun hope to hear an update on how the scan went soon! x

sure everythin is fine hun... but its soo hard not to worry!
i read that our lo's can sense a raised heartbeat / blood pressure... so i've tried to focus my entire pregnancy on bein pragmatic at every stage nd keepin completely calm (i was a majorly stressy / anxious person pre-pregnancy).
until i am told that somethin is wrong i keep positive... i'll deal with problems as nd when.
its made my pregnancy run a lot smoother i believe.
stay positive!
xx

I measured smaller than I should my whole pregnancy, it was nothing to worry about, my little man was born 12 days late wrighing 6lb 11oz. Lots of my friends have had the same thing, measurng small but babies have been just fine. I think it's quite a common thing.

Thank you all. Scan went well, LO measured fine and has an estimated weight of 6lb12. No pics as she was too big and wouldn't show her face very well, even asked them to double check sex (paranoid :haha:) but she had her legs tightly closed. Next big milestone is getting to the 13th so she can be a homebirth baby

That's great news, so glad everything is ok :happydance:

Glad everything is OK hun, I am in exactly the same situation, DS was lb 9oz and I needed a growth scan to check this baby wasnt too big, they then discovered she was tiny, at 35wks she measures 4lb but this week she was a bigger 5lb 11oz, still really little but growing well so nothing to be concerned about! Thank god eh? x
