strep b infection

well im having my c section on the 14th of march i got a call form my midwife today to tell me that i have tested positive for strep b infection and they want me to start taking antibiotics i pick them up tomorrow has anyone else had a test come back positive???

I had it with DS#1. All they did was put me on IV antibiotics before labor/c-section. I haven't received the results from this pregnancy yet. It's not a huge deal. As long as you take the antibiotics like they tell you to, you and baby should be fine.

My understanding is that you don't need antibiotics if you're having a section as the baby will not be travelling through the birth canal.

There is actually a large population of women who test positive. I did as well. They hooked me up to an IV because I was trying to have a vaginal birth and baby would be going down birth canal..I ended up having a section and it didn't matter.Don't fret
