Strong cramps after ET

I do not usually have AF type cramps in TWW, I only had it once a couple of cycles ago and I was convinced it was implantation but no such luck so I am not terribly happy about cramping. It just felt like AF, if it was something unusual i'd get excited but AF types of cramps are just a sign that uterus was trying to contract for some reason and that's worrying.

I think I will be testing every day but I guess by the end of weekend I'll already pretty much know the outcome.

I do get AF cramps but nothing like i've been having. Unfortunately they feel like AF this morning and i've got some brown spotting, this is not a good sign. Feeling very deflated today! Think im going to test tomorrow this is driving me crazy.

Pinkie, I am so sorry about spotting it's always so discouraging. but the reality is that it can still go either day. spotting and even bleeding is very common in IVF cycles.

I could not sleep and woke up feeling pretty miserable for no apparent reason, tried to go back to sleep but could not had nightmares and then cramping began all over again.

Briss - In a nutshell the 'IVF Diary' says you will more than likely experience Lower abdominal bloatedness towards the time of which your period would have been due, tender breasts, change in bowel habits, pressure on the bladder affecting sensation when passing urine, cramping, pre-menstrual symptoms. It also says If you have been pregnant in the past symptoms experienced around this time can sometimes be similar to an early pregnancy but unfortunately this doesn't not always mean pregnancy from this treatment.

It then says The effects of the hormones can sometimes cause runny or watery discharge and if you are using cyclogest pessaries it is normal to have a whiteish/creamy discharge.

Occasionally sharp abdominal pain may occour either centrally or to one side. This is due to the ovaries settling down.

Pinkie - Good luck and positive thinking is the way forward! Also could you not call you hospital and tell the youre spotting and maybe increase your medication?

MishC, thank you for setting out the pregnancy symptoms, really interesting.

My main symptoms:

tender breasts: started on day one of taking progesterone
bloated: started after ET
AF type cramping: started 2 days after ET (on and off)
brown spotting (a tiny amount): 2 days after ET

the problem is they started very early on, not closer towards the time when AF is due.

Thanks ladies, i am staying positive. Its so difficult cos i just can't call it i have no idea if i am pregnant or not, some people say they just know i've not a clue!

Briss my cramping started early too. I am now thinking its one of 3 things. My AF is on the way, i am losing one of them or i am pregnant. My cramps have calmed a little but still spotting although its really dark im hoping its old blood. Your other symptoms sound like mine i've been reading so much Google and it looks like more people have a positive outcome with these symptoms than negative.

I test daily, bfns so far but I know it's too early. I guess from tomorrow (10DPO) it starts getting serious.

Hi all,
I'm getting ready for my FET, but for my successful fresh IVF cycle I had cramping and it was good sign. I never usually have too much cramping in the 2WW, but this was significant and it resulted in a BFP. It really could go either way as we're on so much medication and the hormones are tricky that way...

Briss I usually get cramping when I get AF too, but this one felt a little different, I'm hoping it's a good sign.

Pinkie spotting is a great sign (when it's not bright red anyway). Really hope you get good news when you test tomorrow!

I'm still having minor discomfort but not too bad. I can't really feel it when sitting down, but when I walk, it feels like I have a stitch? I'm so tempted to test early (OTD isn't till Thursday 17th!)

Done a test this morning BFN there isn't even a hint of a second line so can't see this changing on OTD tomorrow. Devastated!

I had cramping from the day after et and was convinced af would arrive before I made it anywhere near my OTD. At 11dp5dt I got my bfp and stopped cramping as much a few days after that. I was so shocked as the cramping was identical to af cramps.

Chickensoup, thanks!! I am so worried about AF cramps cos most people say when they got BFP they had some other type of cramps. I am back to being hopeful!!

Pinkie, this is heart breaking!! I am so sorry for you. There is still a little hope that your beta will come back positive cos it takes longer to see it in your urine which may explain why stick is still negative. I am so hoping for the miracle for you!!

afm, had some strange pains all day today, not even sure if it is uterus or bladder. it's kind of dull pain, and started to really be annoying cos it's there all the time. I had similar sensation in the past but not like that non-stop for the whole day. tested in the evening - negative not a hint of a second line (be sure I examined the strip as much as I could). hoping and praying...
