I'm on a role tonight girls but....

I know every baby is different but my lo is 6 months old and has always slept well. He goes to bed at 8 and wakes once thro the night for a feed and wakes about 7.30 ish sometimes earlier!!

Should he be sttn?

He's on solids but this has not helped his sleeping much!

Now and again he sttn but it doesn't seem to happen often!

Many babies will have a night feed until 9-12 months. Don't sweat it!

Thank you for replying! I was starting to think I'm missing out lol every post I read or most people I speak to there babas are sttn!

Was thinking maybe he's not feeding enough or something! X

If you wanted to try and wean him off of the feed, you could try reducing the ounces every few days. So if he takes 5 ounces, do 4 ounces for 3 days, then 3 ounces for 3 days, etc. The hope is that he'll up his daily intake.

If you're fine with it though, it's totally within the range of normal!

I personally think you're very lucky lol. You only have to look at the sleep support threads in baby club to see how much worse it could be :)

He sounds completely normal to me, many babies are still waking 2+ times a night at that age.

Thanks for the reassurance. I am lucky suppose what made me think otherwise was meeting friends today with Los similar ages, I should know better than to compare!!

They're probably lying anyway ;)

My best friend used to lie about her baby STTN because she just didn't want any tips, sympathy or judgement (and her baby was a pretty average sleeper). Can't say I blame her!

I know lol!

When he does sttn I wake in a panic thinking I've not heard him. oh well will happen one day! : )

My LO still has a midnight bottle every single night without fail. She goes down around 7.45pm and wakes just after 9am. She has never once slept through the night but it doesn't bother me, I figure she'll drop it in her own time.

Mine is a minimum 6x a night and he can stay awake for hours right now during the night, it's awful. My 1st was the same. Your baby is really doing well.

Thanks girls hes a big boy and loves his milk so ill keep at it until he decides he's happy without.

The last two nights he's been getting up bang on 1.30 it's useuly 4.30 but he's two teeth coming in so I think this is upsetting him too!

Would be so much easyier if they came with a hand book!! Lol

My LO was still having 2 night feeds at 6 months. At 7.5 months I decided to see whether she could go without the 4am one. Picked her out if the cot and soothed her and she went back to sleep. Did this for a few days and she stopped waking. Then one random night we decided not to dream feed her and see what happened and she went through to 6am. I guess I was offering the bottle and she was taking it (and not much at times, only a couple of ounces). She now sttn every 3 nights I'd say and the other nights she half wakes, has a little whinge and nods back off until her 6am wake up time. She's 9.5 months now.

Sounds like your LO is doing just fine x

I often just go thro and put his dummy in but he then crys until he gets milk and he will take 9 ounces!

Sounds like he still needs it then. Waking for a night feed is completely normal at this age.

At 6 months Maddie still had 2/3 night feeds... She finally dropped the last night feed just after turning 8 months... I did bugger all, just went with the flow, I think they just get there in the end?!?! But yes my SIL posted in facebook about her 3 month old STTN and I did want to hit her (out of jealousy, she's a nice girl :)) x

I know lol you can't help feel hard done by even tho I know he is sleeping well!

Thanks. It's a good read very reassuring. Think I need to chill out and just go with the flow he will sttn when ready : )

He sure sound hungry!

You might want to try increasing his protein intake during the day - avocado, yogurt, cheese, meats and eggs are all great sources.

Otherwise it honestly sounds like he's doing great :flower:

My LO was still waking through the night twice to feed at that age! Only just started going 6.30/7pm until 5am every morning, feeds, then back to sleep until 7am. Ferber believes that healthy, term babies CAN go through at least 10 hours from 3 months. Think of this what you will! xx
