stupid name?

I really like the name Leopold for a boy... im wondering do you think its a silly name? i like the idea of shortening it to Leo, but i like the whole name too (i.e i dont just want to go with Leo as the full name..)

i just wanted to hear people's opinions of the name, either for the first name or middle name, do you think he would get bullied / dislike the name as its not common?

i think its a personal choice the name of ur baby, i dont like it personally but if someone said they dint like morgans name i wudnt of changed it, as for getting builled, i think theres so usually names now a days x

I really like the name leo i think its really cute i dont like leopold really it made me think of tadpole sorry hun but deffo like leo not many people like my choice of amani for a boy but i like it so thats all that matters xx

Leo sounds like a strong name. If Leopold is the name you chose keep it, its your personal choice... personally I think LEO is a very strong sounding name...

Hmm, I like Leo... I wouldn't go for Leopold personally, but I do like unusual names...I'd have loved to have an unusual name at school, even if it got shortened to something simple...just to be a bit different!

If you like the name hun, then you go for it, is it an unusual name in Spain? (I assume that's where you'll be staying with LO?).. If you're still not sure about it, why not make it a middle name I think it would work fine for either.

yeah it is unusual here too, in fact ive only ever heard the name in a film called 'kate and leopold' (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035423/ good film by the way! lol) tbh i think you ladies are right, i dont think its a suitable 'real life' name, and should probably stay in the movies lol

Oh please reconsider, I LOVE Leopold! It's unusual without bein weird or made up. And if he'd be called Leo on a daily basis, that's not that unusual. As for the bullying: I think if kids don't like someone they'll find a way to bully them, even if their name is David or Jim. And on the other hand they'll not bully him about his name whatever it is if they like him. Small kids don't know whether a name is unusual or not and when he's older he can always opt for Leo if he really doesn't like Leopold. I was the only one with my name anywhere for years and I never got bullied (for that ).
I say if you like it go for it, it's a great name!!!
Out of curiosity: Did you have ideas for girls names?

hehe at least theres one person out there who likes it.. i aggree what youre saying about the bullying etc, for girls names we were settled on zoe for a girl.

If you like it, go for it! I think it's a fine, strong name and not unusual (even if it is uncommon). Like someone else said, kids will find a way to tease anyone about their names no matter what the name is, even if it's John or Jane, so don't let that sway your decision.
