Hi, I m new to this forum and so as to herbal remedies and charting. Looking for support and success stories on Agnus Castus and Royal jelly.

Little background of me:

I am 30 now and TTC#1 for 20 months. I have been on clomid and injectables for 4 cycles in the past 20 months with no success. Clomid and other fertility medications messed up my 23-26 short but regular cycles and my cycles are all over the place at the moment. So after some reading I have started taking Agnus castus (1000mg morning - before breakfast and night -after dinner)and Royal jelly (150mg night -after dinner)from this cycle and started charting. I have attached my first bbt chart for your thoughts. I m super frustrated and feeling down. Any thoughts, anybody?

Thanks.

Spray, I'm new to vitex myself but just wanted to say hi. I take it if you've been on clomid etc you've had your hormones checked? There's a long term TTC forum here where people might be better able to give advice.

I'm taking vitex now too. 1,000 mg every morning before breakfast. It's been 37 days since I started and I'm already seeing positive results!
Don't have any experience with Royal jelly, I took it for too short a time to be effective.

Hello and welcome! Try Gia brand Vitex, many women report it works the best. Also research maca, it can compliment other herbs. I would also recommend acupuncture to help boost fertility. Feel tree to jump on the irregular gals thread on the ttc 1 board.

Hi, first of all thanks for your reply. I will visit other threads too to get some opinions.

Amygdala, I had my hormones checked way back in Nov 2014 before my first clomid cycle in Dec 2014. The hormones came back normal. All OB/GYN I visited insist that my hormones are ok but I ovulate late and have short LP. Even on clomid on ovulate between cd16-18. So they give me Dupahston (synthetic progesterone) to lengthen my LP.

I may not see a fertility specialist until June or July this year. Meanwhile trying my luck with these herbal remedies to see if I can get my cycles regulated.

2ducks, I too read about Maca and was tempted to try that. But as of now I am trying to stick with these AC and Royal jelly for atleast 3months to see any difference. Actually I am from UK but living in Saudi due to DH work. So I have lot of practical difficulties in getting these products delivered.

MrsMcCurdy, I too started vitex around 30 days ago. I see some good difference esp., with my CM. I was so dry due to the fertility medicines but now better. Will update if there is any more positive things.

Sorry for the long post.

I just conceived number two with Vitex. I am 39 and had been trying for years before finally getting pregnant with my dd in 2013 on vitex. I had so many issues (fibroids, cyst, irregular and anovulatory cycles, debilitating cramps) and Vitex helped if not eliminated them all. I did have an ectopic pregnancy before I got pregnant with DD and lost a tube which makes both of my successful pregnancies (so far fingers crossed) even more remarkable. I did have to up my Vitex from 2 to 3 capsules a day this time around probably because I'm still breastfeeding and my hormones needed extra help :) Over the years on this forum I have heard other women who were not fans of chaste berry (vitex) but it was my answer to not just having a baby but long term health and wellness. Good luck

Hi Pandi77,

Congratulations on your BFP !!! Wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy. I am so delighted to hear your success story and it gives me a lot of hope, thank you so much. Would you mind answering few of my questions?
1. Were you taking agnus castus tablets or Vitex capsules and what is the mg per tablet? Because I am taking Agnus Castus 1000mg and my pacakage directs me to take 1 or 2 only per day.
2. Were you taking any other supplements along with Vitex or just Vitex?
3. How long have you been on Vitex before your BFPs?

Thanks a lot.

Sorry for the late response..
I took vitex capsules-natures way bought on Amazon. Two 400mg caps a day to conceive dd and three caps a day to get pregnant this time. My luteal phase was only 10 days since I'm breastfeeding so I needed th extra dose it seems.

I have never stopped taking prenatal vitamins since I breastfeed and my other supplements I take continuously are coq10, milk thistle, and folate (not folic acid look it up to see the reasons why:)

I started taking vitex about a year or so before dd was conceived. At the time I wasn't ovulating at all. When I did (very first cycle on vitex) my luteal phase was only 8 days so I used progesterone cream to lengthen it. I almost started with it again this one but didnt need to :)

For the record I have have several chemical pregnancies due to a luteal phase defect before dd was born. Getting my body to ovulate was half of the battle for me and it was difficult seeing those bfp's and then getting AF the day after so many times. I think years of being on vitex has corrected most my issues without needing additional progesterone.

Good luck!

Hey there love. My little 17 month old DS is a Vitex success story. Almost 3 years of trying and we gave up. I wasn't ovulating so my cycles were anywhere between 20 days to 60. I started taking Vitex to get it under control. We began NTNP instead of TTC and just focused on us as a couple. Lo and behold, 3 months later I got my BFP on the due date of one of our little lost Angels.
By the first month of taking Vitex, I had a 28 day cycle with pink spotting on cd14. That happened every month until I got my BFP where I got more spotting and a quite intense O type pain at 9 DPO. It's amazing stuff and I highly recommend it to regulate cycles. I haven't tried Royal jelly but I wish you all the best in your journey to motherhood xoxoxo

Pandi77,

Thanks a lot for answering all my questions. No problem even if it's a late reply. I am also taking Co-q10 (1x 100mg) daily along with pre natals, vit D, AC and Royal jelly. I will look into folate for sure. I m now on my cycle 2 of AC and RJ. Since my last post I got my af on CD40 last cycle where I had 12days of LP. Though it was a long cycle I am glad I ovulated and had a considerable LP. Hope it gets better this month.

Tinymumma,

Thanks a lot for sharing your success story. Happy to know that Vitex do wonders. As most of them here knows, i m going through something where I need too many things to keep me positive and hopeful. Fingers crossed for this cycle.

All your success stories really means a lot to me. Thank you so much.
