sure start maternity grant

Hi ladies. Just been searching on the internet about the sure start maternity grant you can claim 11 weeks before your baby is born, the information i have found says that this is £500! Is this right?

If your income is low enough for you to be receiving child tax credits at a rate higher
than the family element which is (£545 per year) or you receive jobseekers allowance or income support. x

well at the moment im out of work and i have just had to make a claim for job seekers, so would i be able to receive the 500 pounds 11 weeks before the birth of my little one in my circumstances?

Yes you would, you need to get a claim form from jobcentre and claim
when you are 29wks pregnant. x
