Do you swaddle your little one?
I never used to,but since Lillie has just turned 3week old today..She's started waking up every hour for a cuddle and falling back to sleep in my arms. I swaddled her earlier on and she went straight to sleep and hasnt woke up for a cuddle, YET.
So fingers crossed it works, apparently they like being all tight like in the womb. Most of the time Lilie wriggles out of blankets but hopefully a good swaddle will do the trick.

What do you think about swaddling? I know some people don't do it due to all these new guidlines, but i was swaddled from birth and i'm here! It's all guidlines, its like the " dont make bottles up and store them in the fridge " yet again, my mum grandma and the rest of the generation did this and we're all healthy. so guys, do you swaddle... If not,how come, what do you think of it? does it not work for your LO? :-)

what are the guidelines on swaddling?
didnt know there were any.
i swaddled lo when she was smaller, she was good at fighting sleep and waking up a lot. she liked the security of it and has slept right threw the night from very young
:flower:

apparently there is a slight risk of SIDS so my HV said, but she said they are only guidlines and do what you think is best. Theres no evidence to prove that theres a risk.x

i used a shawl, which has holes in it anyway so even if she wriggled out and ended up with it over her face she could still have breathed properly

I am a huge believer in swaddling and my LO will be swaddled. With my son, he would not sleep more than 30-45 minutes UNLESS he was swaddled. With swaddling, he slept 3-4 hours at a time at night. It was my miracle! :)

My Grandparents are pediatricians and they said babies like to be swaddled because it provides them security. In the womb - they are held tight against Mother so when they are born and their arms and legs flail freely, it scares them, they startle and cry. It makes sense...

Anyway...that's my two cents worth! Good luck....

:hugs:

It's up to you. If you want to swaddle then do so. I've found that some babies love being swaddled and others do not. My LO hated it so I did not swaddle for long. :D

I swaddled my LO up until two weeks ago (when I moved him from moses basket into cotbed) xx

i swaddled my 2 and they both love it!! would sit for hours in their bouncers just watching everything going on if they were swaddled.
