as title really! am thinking bout getting my lo a swimseat for when we go swimming but wondering if there any good! She loves the water so am unsure about weather its needed!

We have one and we've found it great, we switch between holding him and putting him in the seat. I am trying to decide at the minute to get him a next size up seat for when he's one or leaving it as he'll be older!

I have taken LO twice now and she loves the water. the first time i went with hubby and took the seat and it was good for her to sit in and have a little look around, but then we got her out and she loved it. the next time i went, i was on my own and couldnt carry her, her changing bag, pay for the swimming etc on my own, so i didnt take it and i dont think il bother again TBH, she was fine without it, she loved having a good kick xx

Apparently they're not supposed to be good if you want to help your baby to swim. They give a false sense of what being in water is like and makes it harder for them to understand the change when you take them out of it. TBH, it's not too hard on our arms to hold your LO in the water because they don't want to be in the pool for more than 30 minutes or so anyway. We were thinking about getting one and I'm glad I didn't after hearing the above - made sense to me when I was told :)

We love ours and so does LO. We do as one of the other posters said - have her in it for a bit and take her out for a bit. I don't think it will hinder her learning to swim.

We have one and its fab. We have our LO in it for a bit and then take him out and let him play in the water. I don't think it'll hinder him learning to swim either, he loves the water ...... plus he's only 7 months old!

thanks for all the replies i bought her one today as sainsburys had them on offer so thought id give it a go!! although it near on killed me blowing the thing up earlier!!!
