For the last couple of weeks I have been tasting blood
It's not constant it's sort of like on and off
Does anyone have any idea what this could be ?
It's kind of freaking me out now

Are your gums bleeding maybe? Or do/have you had a cold? Sometimes my nose bleeds a bit when I've been sniffling and I can taste it occasionally.

Have you been to your dentist in the last 6 months? Could be perio.

My gums aren't bleeding :/ it's really strange

I haven't been to the dentist for a little while. What is perio?

Xx

Whats "a little while?" Couple months, couple years? When I ask some of my perio patients if they have noticed their gums bleeding they will often say no, and then when I go to do cleaning it's like I stabbed them in the artery. Because you dont notice it, doesnt mean its not happening :flower:

Perio is periodontal disease. The most condensed explanation I can give is its caused by bacterial build up on/under the gums and causes inflammation/bleeding/bone loss as well a host of systemic issues and tooth loss. I dont say this to scare you! It also starts out at early gingivitis.

HOWEVER.

I see from your ticker you are only 3 months post partum. Plus, if you are breastfeeding, this mix of hormones makes your gums more vascular and bleeding is more common. If you are a great brusher, floss daily, and have been regular on your cleanings and dental check ups, this is most likely the cause.

If its been 6 months since your last check up, I'd advise you to see your dentist. They can advise you correctly, as its impossible to determine any sort of issue over the internet :flower:

Thankyou for your advice my last dentist app was over six months ago so I called and made an app for Monday, hope it will be okay, thanks for your advice! Xx

Glad you made an appt, I'm sure everything will be great :flower:
